This is a full-time, permanent position with immediate joining, based at our New Delhi HQ, sitting inside the political-economy desk that feeds our election forecasting record (89% historical accuracy across 18 countries) and our sovereign-client policy work. What you will actually do:

• Read the macro position of every political account — growth, prices, jobs, credit — and translate it into the vocabulary campaigns actually argue in
• Cost the promises: what each manifesto commitment implies for budgets, borrowing, and prices, with the arithmetic shown line by line
• Tag policy events to market and sentiment movement — budget days, rate decisions, trade announcements — and grade how much each actually moved

Skills that matter: Fiscal arithmetic, Monetary and credit-cycle literacy for political timing, Policy-event tagging graded against actual movement, Scenario modelling for contested outcomes, Plain-macro briefing craft for non-economists, Structural-versus-cyclical judgment.

Tools you will use: Python 3.11, Stata or R for panel-data econometrics, Excel + Power Query for fiscal-data extraction at scale, RBI DBIE / MoSPI NAS / NITI Aayog dashboards.
