Job summary

Orcapod Consulting Services seeks a senior Windchill specialist to advise IT managers and solution architects on technical feasibility and best practices. You will lead Windchill development teams, define standards, and drive architecture for customizations and interfaces.

Role includes establishing quality gates, QA/monitoring, and advancing DevOps practices with the application infra team. English communication and stakeholder management are essential for success.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Consult IT Managers, Project Managers and Solution Architects with regards to technical feasibility and best-practices in Windchill. Prepare and support strategic technology decisions.
• Provide technical leadership to Windchill development teams (both inhouse and external). Define coding standards, enforce best practices, and conduct code reviews.
• Design, implement and maintain flexible software architectures as a foundation for customizations and interfaces.
• Define quality gates, establish quality assurance and monitoring processes.
• Continously adapt development / build / deployment processes towards modern standards and principles, e.g. DevOps, in close collaboration with the application infrastructure team.
• Support the Problem Management of the Windchill production environment.
• Stay up-to‑date on the latest market innovations, automation methods, and AI integrations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Very strong knowledge of large-scale Windchill customizations and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Java programming and Java Web Application Frameworks including JSP, Spring and AJAX.
• Strong knowledge of IT architecture, integrations and related technologies (e.g. SOAP, ODATA, SQL, Data Integration).
• Knowledge of Windchill system administration, infrastructure, build and deployment.
• Excellence in agile IT project management (methods, roles, tools).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills to design complex technical solutions.
• Demonstrated hands‑on expertise in designing, developing, and deploying Windchill customizations and integrations.
• Experience in designing, developing and maintaining technical architectures for efficient and effective CI/CD operations.
• Experience in managing and steering external service providers and / or a development team.
