Job summary

Veolia in Bengaluru seeks an experienced engineer to design and implement PLC and HMI/SCADA solutions for water and wastewater automation projects. You will handle platform standard supply projects, review design docs, and troubleshoot control systems across multiple platforms.

The role demands strong electrical and instrumentation fundamentals and hands-on experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA development, network protocols, and wiring diagrams. Degree in Instrumentation/Controls is required.

Qualifications

• Basic process knowledge and understanding of water flow and hydraulics.
• Knowledge in CN, Control Philosophy, OSC, CLC, FDS for platform projects.
• Able to handle PLC-HMI/SCADA projects on small-scale platforms.
• Hands-on development of PLC, HMI/SCADA for process equipment on multiple projects.
• Understanding of protocols Ethernet, ControlNet, Modbus TCP/IP, PROFIBUS, etc.
• Attended FAT/SAT for equipment systems validating PLC-HMI/SCADA against docs.
• Experience in troubleshooting and debugging PLC Logic and HMI/SCADA.
• Reviewing wiring diagrams and electronic configuration of PLC automation systems.
• Strong Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering fundamentals.
• Understanding of P&IDs, Electrical Schematics, Networks.
• Understanding of instrumentation 2-wire/4-wire.
• Understanding of MCC, VFD fundamentals.
• IO List preparation for platform projects.
• Handled multiple platform projects for IP List preparation and network review.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement PLC, HMI/SCADA for platform standard supply projects.
• Review FAT/SAT results and ensure control systems meet design docs.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic and HMI/SCADA and fix issues promptly.
• Prepare IO lists and system architecture for projects.
• Coordinate with vendors for system integration and documentation.

Job Summary

An accomplished professional who has gained or is in the process of acquiring the confidence to implement and execute engineering designs, and possess the ability to solve on-the-job problems with minimal to moderate guidance. Conducting activities with a broad application of principles, theories, and concepts pertinent to the relevant discipline.

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations

Must-Have Requirements

1. Basic process knowledge and understanding of water flow and hydraulics.

2. Knowledge in Control Narrative-CN, Control Philosophy, Valve Sequence Chart, Operation Sequence Chart-OSC, Control Logic Chart-CLC, Cause & Effect Logic Diagram, Functional Design Specification-FDS etc. for platform Standard supply projects (small scale projects).

3. Able to handle multiple platform standard supply projects (Small Scale Projects) on PLC-HMI/SCADA Programming.

4. Hands on experience in development of PLC, HMI/SCADA for process equipment based on controls documentation for multiple projects ranging From platform standard supply projects (Small scale project) and EP/EP+ Standard/custom specification (Medium scale projects)

5. Understanding various protocols ETHERNET, CONTROLNET MODBUS TCP/IP PROFIBUS, etc.

6. Attended FAT, SAT for equipment system for verifying the PLC-HMI/SCADA w.r.t to process controls documents.

7. Has experience in Troubleshooting and debugging the PLC Logic and HMI/SCADA.

8. Reviewing wiring diagrams and electronic configuration of PLC Automation systems.

9. Should be strong in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering fundamentals.

10. Basic understanding of process engineering documents, including P&IDs, process design guidelines, Electrical Schematics, Communications Network Architecture.

11. Basic understanding of instrumentation 2 Wire, 4 Wire etc.

12. Basic understanding of MCC, VFD fundamentals.

13. IO List preparation of platform standard supply projects (Small scale projects).

14. Handled multiple platform projects for IP List preparation and Network Architecture review.

Good To Have Requirements (That Supports future Career progression in the Role)

1. Understanding of standard programming blocks of water & wastewater treatment equipment like Clarifier, Filters, RO, UF, Demin EDR, EDI, MBR MBBR etc.

2. Preparation of design deliverables PLC I/O list, System architecture, control system BOQ on multiple platform standard supply project (Small scale project).

3. Reviewing & evaluating vendor’s techno-commercial offers.

4. Attended FAT, SAT for equipment system for verifying supplied control system components.

5. Understanding of how the PLC logic and HMI/SCADA works.

6. Reviewing wiring diagrams and electronic configuration of PLC automation systems.

7. Vendor documents review for system integration.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification: Engineering Degree – Instrumentation & Controls/ Electronics

Experience Required (Min – Max year)

6-10 years’ Experience in Water, Wastewater, Power, Oil & Gas or related Industry.
