Job summary

Aggne is seeking a Test Automation Lead based in Hyderabad, India. In this role, you will define and own the test automation strategy, driving coverage for Web UI, API, and regression testing. You will be responsible for mentoring junior SDETs and ensuring quality across projects.

We are looking for candidates with at least 6 years of experience in software testing, including 3 years in test automation leadership. The ideal applicant will have a strong understanding of web technologies and API testing, along with leadership skills to influence quality culture across teams.

Job description

• Define and own the test automation strategy, standards, and best practices across projects.
• Drive automation coverage for Web UI, API, and regression testing.
• Review automation code and guide the team on framework enhancements, reusability, and performance optimization.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Architects, Product Owners, and DevOps teams to ensure testability and quality at every stage.
• Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and quality risk assessments.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to release readiness and quality sign-off.
• Mentor and coach junior SDETs, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
• Track quality metrics, automation KPIs, and provide regular status reports to leadership.
• Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools, techniques, and improvements in test automation and quality engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software testing with at least 3+ years in test automation leadership.
• Proven experience in framework design from scratch and scaling automation solutions.
• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM) and RESTful APIs.
• Strong experience in API testing and backend validation.
• Hands‑on experience with Git and modern branching strategies.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts, continuous testing, and DevOps integration.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or equivalent.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
