Job summary

Cognizant in Hyderabad is seeking a software quality engineer with 6-8 years of experience in manual, automation, and UI testing for web and enterprise apps. You will contribute to robust quality across complex systems.

You will design and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks, perform API testing, and participate in test planning, defect management, and end-to-end validation within Agile teams and CI/CD environments using Azure/GCP cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in software quality engineering.
• Strong expertise in manual, automation, and UI testing for web and enterprise apps.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining Playwright-based automation frameworks.
• Strong API testing experience using Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
• Proven expertise in test planning, test case design, defect management, exploratory testing, and end-to-end validation.
• Experience leveraging AI agents/copilots for test generation, automation development, debugging, RCA, and testing efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Agile, test reporting, and cloud-hosted apps on Azure and/or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Perform API and UI testing, plan tests, create test cases, and manage defects.
• Collaborate in CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments using Azure and/or GCP.
