Job summary

Deloitte Shared Services India is seeking a Senior Test Engineer specialized in Playwright automation to design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation for modern web applications.

You will own automation activities across the testing lifecycle, implement POM, perform cross‑browser UI and API testing, and integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience in QA automation.
• Proficient in Playwright automation testing.
• Strong hands-on in designing, developing automation solutions.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with cross-browser testing (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit).
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Playwright Automation Test Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation solutions for modern web applications. The candidate should have a solid understanding of QA engineering practices and be capable of independently owning automation activities across the testing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust Playwright-based automation frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Automate functional, regression, smoke, sanity and end-to-end business scenarios.
• Develop reusable automation components, utilities, fixtures and page objects.
• Implement Page Object Model (POM) and other appropriate automation design patterns.
• Perform cross-browser testing across Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
• Automate UI and API testing using Playwright capabilities.
• Handle complex UI scenarios involving dynamic elements, multiple tabs/windows, iframes, file uploads/downloads and asynchronous operations.
• Develop effective locator strategies and minimize flaky tests through appropriate synchronization and Playwright auto‑waiting capabilities.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Execute automation suites in parallel and optimize execution time.
• Implement test reporting, screenshots, videos, traces and logging to facilitate faster failure analysis.
• Analyze automation failures, identify root causes and distinguish application defects from automation issues.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts and functional testers to identify appropriate automation coverage.
