Job summary

SID Global Solutions is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable Kubernetes platforms on AWS (EKS) and Google Cloud (GKE). You will develop tooling in Python or Golang, manage Terraform-based infrastructure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable automated deployments.

The role focuses on platform observability, reliability, and security for cloud-native microservices, collaborating across teams to deliver self-service platforms.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in platform engineering or a related role.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience (EKS/GKE) with cloud platforms AWS/GCP.
• Proficiency in Python or Golang for platform tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable Kubernetes platforms on AWS (EKS) and Google Cloud (GKE).
• Develop platform automation and tooling using Python or Golang.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Implement platform observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting.
• Support cloud-native microservices and ensure platform reliability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with different teams to build secure, resilient, and self-service platforms.
• This is a platform engineer role and not a typical DevOps role

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS/GKE).
• Expert-level proficiency in Python or Golang.
• Write complete micro service using one of the above programming language
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP services:
• Compute
• Object Storage (S3/GCS)
• SQL & NoSQL Databases
• Networking and IAM
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Expertise in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Hands-on experience with Helm and Kubernetes YAML.
• Strong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Experience with observability tools and concepts (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, logging, tracing, metrics, alerting).
• Good understanding of Docker, Linux, and cloud networking.
• Basic understanding of GenAI/LLM platform concepts is preferred.

Preferred

• Experience with Istio/Service Mesh, ArgoCD, KServe, or Knative.
• AWS/GCP/Kubernetes certifications (CKA, AWS SAA/Professional, GCP PCA) are a plus.
