Job summary

SAP is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to build scalable backend services and metering platforms. You will work on Kubernetes-based infrastructure, Argo Workflows, and AI governance practices within a global AI Core team.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of backend development experience with Python or Go.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and Argo Workflows.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud architecture.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, observability tools, and performance monitoring.
• Exposure to agentic orchestration, AI governance operations, and AI-assisted development practices.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Build backend services for prompt evaluation, optimization and metering.
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and billing inaccuracies to keep metering reliable.
• Develop platform services with observability and fault tolerance for production-grade reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile workflows—code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Develop expertise in metering and billing as core domain knowledge.
• Maintain code quality and operational readiness through automation and testing.

Job description

You have hands-on experience with cloud platforms, backend development, and containerized environments.

• 4 to 8 years of experience with proficiency in Python or Go for building scalable backend services and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration, and familiarity with Argo Workflows for deployment and workflow automation.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform — AWS, GCP, or Azure — and a solid understanding of cloud architecture and scalability.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, observability tools, and performance monitoring.
• Exposure to agentic orchestration, AI governance operations, and AI-assisted development practices.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
