Job summary

Softility, Inc. seeks a hands-on Platform Architect to own the enterprise operations platform, spanning agentic workflows, integrations, and distributed services.

You will guide architecture across APIs, data services, and deployment while ensuring deployment across cloud, on-premises, and restricted environments. The role requires 10+ years of production software experience, architecture ownership, strong knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven design, Kubernetes, and security.

Qualifications

• Experience with observability and troubleshooting in production.
• Understanding tool calling and agent workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture, service boundaries, interfaces, and major technical decisions.
• Guide architecture across orchestration, knowledge graph, integrations, APIs, and data services.
• Ensure deployability across cloud, on-premises, and restricted environments.
• Define patterns for retries, idempotency, state management, failure recovery, auditability, and observability.
• Maintain abstraction from individual LLM providers and external tools.
• Review major designs and critical code.
• Identify and prioritize architectural debt.
• Collaborate with engineering and product on feasibility and sequencing.

Job description

Own the technical architecture of an enterprise operations platform spanning agentic workflows, integrations, knowledge systems, distributed services, and customer-hosted Kubernetes deployments. This is a hands‑on architecture role.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture, service boundaries, interfaces, and major technical decisions.
• Guide architecture across agent orchestration, knowledge graph, integrations, APIs, data services, and deployment.
• Ensure the platform remains deployable across cloud VPC, on-premises, and restricted environments.
• Define patterns for retries, idempotency, state management, failure recovery, auditability, security, and observability.
• Maintain abstraction from individual LLM providers and external tool vendors.
• Review major designs and critical code.
• Identify and prioritize architectural debt.
• Work with engineering and product on technical feasibility and sequencing.

Mandatory technical skills and experience

• 10+ years building production software, including significant distributed‑systems experience.
• Demonstrated architecture ownership for a production platform.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • distributed systems
  • event‑driven and asynchronous architectures
  • APIs and service boundaries
  • Kubernetes and containers
  • authentication, authorization, RBAC, secrets and auditability
  • production observability and troubleshooting
• Working understanding of:
  • tool calling and agent workflows
  • human‑in‑the‑loop execution
• Experience evolving an existing platform, not only designing greenfield systems.
• Strong enough coding ability to inspect, prototype, debug, and review production code.

Preferred

• SRE, DevOps, observability, infrastructure, or incident‑management experience.
