Job Description

Senior Plant Engineer to SET UP and support and manage the technical operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the plants drying and milling infrastructure. (Bleaching Earth) The Plant Engineer will ensure smooth functioning of all equipment housed across major sheds (including dryer zones and carbon processing areas), supporting quality production, preventive maintenance, and process troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination – New Plant Setup

• Lead and coordinate the initial setup of the bleaching earth plant, including layout planning, equipment installation, and commissioning activities.
• Work with consultants, contractors, and vendors during the design, construction, and handover phases.
• Ensure smooth transition from project stage to stable plant operations by setting up operating procedures, preventive maintenance systems, and compliance frameworks.
• Support management in identifying technical gaps, manpower planning, and training needs during the startup phase.

Process Control & Plant Operations

• Monitor and control process parameters across the Dryer side, Mill shed, and Carbon handling areas.
• Support production teams in maintaining output quality standards (e.g., Moisture content, Fineness, Swelling index).
• Supervise operation of key equipment such as Rotary dryers, Grinders (e.g., Raymond mills), and Conveyors.

Quality & Output Monitoring

• Monitor and control key process parameters to ensure consistent production quality in line with customer specifications.
• Review works orders and monitor production and finished product stock level to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Review analysis quality control reports and initiate corrective actions where necessary.

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

• Prepare and execute Annual preventive maintenance plans for milling plant machinery and equipment like Dryers, pumps, DG sets, and Conveyors etc.
• Asset preventive maintenance plans, vehicle, folk life and other plant equipment’s
• Spare parts inventory control, and vendor coordination.
• To ensure the proper preventive maintenance is undertaken on the plant equipment to ensure smooth operations
• To attend plant breakdown and participate in trouble shooting of the plant’s process
• Respond to breakdowns and lead troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime.

Shed & Infrastructure Oversight

• Oversee operational readiness and maintenance of large mill, dryer, and carbon sheds, ensuring proper ventilation, lighting, and structure.

Utility Monitoring

• Track usage of Diesel, Electricity, and Water, with focus on efficiency and cost control.

Safety, EHS & Compliance

• To participate in quality and environment improvement programmes
• Adhere to and enforce safety standards per Factory Act and Telangana PCB guidelines.
• Maintain dust control, emission, and waste handling records as per compliance norms.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain records for maintenance activities, utility use, and machine uptime.
• Submit daily and weekly technical reports to the Plant Manager / Head of Operations.

Other Duties

• Support cross-functional needs or technical tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial Engineering.
• 10 years above of relevant plant engineering experience in mineral processing, chemical, or related industries.
• Familiar with:
• Rotary dryers, Raymond mills, material handling systems
• Preventive maintenance planning
• Utility systems: DG sets, pumps, compressors, etc.
• MS Excel. Ms Word, PPT and basic plant documentation

Desirable

• Background in Bleaching earth or similar processing plants
• Familiarity with PCB regulations and factory compliance audits
• English written skill, Hindi Karnataka-speaking candidates preferred for local workforce coordination.
• EXPERIENCES IN SET UP NEWLY BLEACHING PLANT
• Temporary stationed at Secunderabad office and later relocation to Kalburgi, Karnataka (With accommodation provided)
