Job summary

Exponent Energy is seeking a Plant Controller to manage finance activities across production, inventory, and plant operations in Bengaluru. The role partners with operations and leadership to ensure compliant, scalable financial processes and robust inventory controls.

You will drive COGS reconciliation, standard/actual cost analysis, and ERP governance, including SAP integrations and audits. A strong finance mindset and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in factory inventory management and PnL reporting.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and SAP for inventory control.
• Ability to coordinate audits and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory management and systems control across the plant.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal finance controls and processes.
• Lead factory ERP implementation and control activities.
• Own reporting of factory PnL to management.
• Verify COGS production Order wise and reconcile orders monthly.
• Monitor inventory movements and reconcile variances.
• Analyze standard vs actual costs on a monthly/yearly basis.
• Coordinate with auditors for physical inventory verification and action items.
• Cycle count inventory and rectify differences with approvals.
• Coordinate with Quality/Production/Logistics for SAP documentation.
• Budget control across plant spends and annual operating plan.
• Plan with sourcing to meet SNOP and manage audits.
• Handle audits and due diligence for inventory and production areas.

Role Overview

The Plant Controller role is responsible for finance activities across production, inventory and plant. The role works closely with business, operations, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall inventory management & Systems control.
• Strict compliance of all internal finance control, systems & processes.
• Factory ERP implementation & Control.
• Ownership of reporting factory PnL to management
• Verification of COGS production order wise & reconciliation of all production orders on daily/weekly/monthly.
• Controlling all the inventory movement across plant and monitoring the processes.
• Standard cost v/s Actual cost analysis on monthly/ yearly basis.
• Co-ordinating with the auditors for physical verification of inventory and analyzing the physical verification report and taking appropriate measures as suggested by auditors & Management.
• Cycle counting of inventory and correcting any differences after appropriate approvals.
• Coordinating with inter dept (Quality/Production/Logistics) for any pending documentation in SAP and getting this done on time.
• Control budgets across plant spends and prepare annual operating plan and track conversion cost closely.
• Manage planning with the sourcing team to meet the SNOP.
• Handle audits, due diligence for inventory and production areas.
