NewSpace Research and Technologies seeks an Operations & Production Planning Engineer in Bengaluru to drive smooth production operations, manage materials, coordinate SCM and production teams, monitor schedules, and push for process improvements. Qualifications

• Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: 5–7 years of prior experience in production planning, operations management or manufacturing coordination.

Responsibilities

• Inventory & Material Management: analyze current inventory levels per BOM and transfer items from free/excess stock to fulfill production orders.
• Production Planning & Control: create Manufacturing Work Orders for Assembly and Sub-Assembly BOMs; release material requisitions in ERP.
• Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: implement processes for returning excess items and drive continuous improvement by data analysis and best practices.
• Coordination & Communication: ensure seamless coordination among Project Management, Design, Production, Quality, Testing, and Logistics teams; communicate risks and corrective actions.
• Dispatch & Logistics: close work orders, finalize packing, coordinate with stores/logistics for dispatch and ensure timely deliveries.

RoleOverview

TheOperations&ProductionPlanningEngineerwillberesponsibleforensuringsmoothandefficientproductionoperationsbymanagingmaterials,coordinatingwithSCMandproductionteams,monitoringschedules,anddrivingprocessimprovements.Thisrolerequiresstronganalyticalskills,cross-functionalcollaboration,andaproactiveapproachtoproblem-solvingtoensuretimelyprojectexecutionandcustomersatisfaction.

KeyResponsibilities

Inventory&MaterialManagement

• AnalyzecurrentinventorylevelsasperBOMandtransferavailableitemsfromfree/excessstocktofulfillproductionorders.
• ReleasePurchaseRequisitions(PR)fornon-stockandshortageitems.
• WorkcloselywiththeSCMteamtoensuretimelyplacementofPurchaseOrders(POs)alignedwithdeliveryschedules.
• Escalatepotentialdelaystomanagementandfacilitateinterventionstomaintainon-timedelivery.

ProductionPlanning&Control

• CreateManufacturingWorkOrders(MWO)forAssemblyandSub-AssemblyBOMs.
• ReleasePickListsorMaterialRequisitions(MR)inERPforissuingmaterialsfromstores.
• Followupwithstoresforkitreadinessandlaunchproductionaspertheschedule.
• PrioritizeinwardmaterialsandcoordinatewithQCforGRNandinspectiontoensuresmoothproductionflow.
• Monitorandrecordproductionprogress;escalateanydesign,capacity,orshortageissuestotheHeadofOperations.

ProcessOptimization&ContinuousImprovement

• ImplementprocessesforreturningexcessitemsthroughComponentReturnNotes(CRN)tooptimizeinventoryusage.
• Encouragecontinuousimprovementbygatheringfeedback,analyzingperformancedata,andimplementingbestpractices.
• Identifypotentialrisks(e.g.,supplierdisruptions,equipmentfailures)anddevelopmitigationandcontingencyplans.

Coordination&Communication

• EnsureseamlesscoordinationamongProjectManagement,Design,Production,Quality,Testing,andLogisticsteams.
• Developandimplementriskmanagementandissuemitigationstrategies.
• Communicateoperationalchanges,risks,andcorrectiveactionstorelevantstakeholders.
• ConductRootCauseAnalysis(RCA)toidentifyunderlyingissuesanddefineeffectivecorrectiveactions.
• Developandexecuteactionplanstoaddressrecurringoperationalchallenges.
• Monitortheeffectivenessofcorrectivemeasuresandensuresustainedprocessimprovement.

Dispatch&Logistics

• CloseWorkOrders,completedrawtransactionsforassemblies,andmoveitemstoFGstock.
• Coordinatewithstores/logisticsforfinalpackingandbookingvehiclesfordispatch.
• Ensuredeliveriesmeetcustomerspecificationsandtimelines.
• CirculatedispatchnotificationstoFinanceforinvoiceprocessing.

Qualifications
