Who we are: We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Job Description: Purchase Executive – Materials Management (Delivery & Logistics Follow-up)
Position Summary

The Purchase Executive will be responsible for end-to-end materials management, including delivery follow-up, logistics coordination, and ensuring timely arrival of ordered materials. The role requires strong vendor management, documentation accuracy, and proactive tracking to identify and flag any deviations in material movement. The candidate will be accountable for ensuring that all materials reach the designated location on time and in full compliance with procurement and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and track the entire material movement process from PO release to final delivery.
  • Coordinate with vendors for dispatch plans, shipment updates, delivery schedules, and documentation.
  • Follow up with logistics partners (courier, transporter, CHA, freight forwarders) to ensure timely movement of goods.
  • Monitor shipment status, transit stages, and expected delivery timelines in real-time.
  • Flag delays, deviations, or risks immediately to the procurement and planning teams.
  • Ensure all logistics and shipment documents (invoice, packing list, LR/GR, e-way bill, BL/AWB, etc.) are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with stores, QC, and user departments for GRN and acceptance after delivery.
  • Maintain a detailed tracker for material movement, deliveries, delays, and logistics expenses.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues related to dispatch errors, shortages, transport damages, or documentation mistakes.
  • Provide timely MIS reports on delivery performance, vendor adherence, shipment status, and logistics metrics.
  • Support audit requirements by maintaining complete documentation of shipments and deliveries.
  • Prior experience in materials management, delivery coordination, logistics follow-up, or procurement support.
  • Strong vendor management and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of logistics processes (transportation, courier, import/export documentation, freight coordination).
  • Experience in documentation and maintaining shipment records.
  • Ability to track multiple shipments simultaneously with high accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive escalation approach.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics) and MS-Excel.
  • High attention to detail and process discipline.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Logistics, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in materials management, logistics follow-up, or procurement.
  • Experience in manufacturing/engineering/industrial environment preferred.
