Job summary

Linxon Chennai, part of the Linxon group, seeks an experienced SCM/Planning Engineer to develop and implement robust planning standards. You will build detailed P6 schedules, integrate project controls, update weekly/monthly progress, and support PMs in achieving targets across scope, budget, and quality.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 and MS Project skills, plus experience with EV analysis and NEC-based contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Expert user of Primavera P6 and MS Project in all aspects of planning and scheduling.
• Experience with Earned Value Analysis, schedule, risk and cost analysis.
• Ability to reconcile cost information with programmes and budgets.
• Experience with NEC 4 contracts and related contract management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-quality planning and scheduling standards to inform Project Managers.
• Produce detailed logic-linked project plans in P6.
• Ensure integration of project control procedures into the delivery process.
• Provide expert advice including weekly or monthly schedule updates.
• Produce monthly planning reports, resource updates and projections.
• Attend regular planning and progress meetings and define project programmes clearly.
• Lead and aid development for leading a team of Planners.

(e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes).* Proficient with Commercial and financial aspects of project management. The ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to the programmes of work.* Proficient in the use of Earned Value Analysis and experience of Schedule, Risk and Cost analysis.* Identifying, escalating, and managing any matters that could pose a potential contractual/commercial risk such as project deviations, slippage reports, opportunities, mitigations.* Proficient knowledge in the management in accordance with corporate, commercial governance and business policies, directives, and guidance.* Monitoring and reporting performance against programme, technical quality, financial and KPI targets; any necessary mitigation actions to prevent targets being missed.* Controlling change and managing effective change control process including claims.* Experience of working with company Enterprise systems and programmes in relation to contracts, e.g., NEC 4; FIDIC etc. Proficient in the use of NEC type contracts and management and implementation of the applying the contract clauses.* Effective client interface skills and experience with the ability to offer both strategic and project advice.
