Job summary

POTENTIAL PROJECT MANAGERS (P) LTD in Bengaluru seeks a Planning Engineer with a civil engineering degree and around 6 years of hands-on project planning experience in industrial and building sectors.

You will create baseline programs, manage WBS, and integrate schedules with vendors using Primavera or MS Project, while generating progress reports and ensuring on-time completion.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering graduate with 6 years hands on experience in project planning across medium to large Industrial and Building projects.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project and requirements, determine the number of packages and packaging method.
• Know the macro level of the project: Concept Design, Design development, Procurement, Construction, Testing and commissioning, Close out.
• Develop WBS and detail activities, estimate materials, manpower and machinery.
• Prepare Baseline Program / Schedule of Works from drawings, BOQ and specs using Primavera or MS Project.
• Coordinate civil-services interfacing works and dependencies in the schedule.
• Generate Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports.
• Monitor schedule and flag delays; develop mitigated schedules to meet baselines.
• Create integrated master schedules aligning with vendor programmes and secure sign-off.
• Verify critical path and interfaces between design/engineering/procurement/execution.
• Prepare cash flow and technical reports for the project.
• Maintain professional interpersonal skills with the team and commitment to improvement.

Job Description

The Planning Engineer is responsible for the following actions

• To be able to understand the Project and the requirements in complete, arrive at the number of packages and the packaging methodology
• Knowledge of Project at the macro level: Concept Design, Design development, Procurement, Construction, Testing and commissioning, Close out etc
• Knowledge of WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) with detailing the activities involved in the project, fitting those in the timelines, calculating the materials, manpower and machinery required to execute these
• Should be able to understand the Scope of works from the Drawings, BOQ and Specs and prepare the Baseline Program / Schedule of Works using Project Management tools such as Primavera or MS Project software
• Knowledge of Civil-Services interfacing works including dependencies while preparing the schedule
• Generate Weekly, Monthly Progress Reports.
• Track the schedule periodically based on inputs received from project team and flag the concerned on the delays and the shortfalls in line with baseline schedule. Develop mitigated schedule so as to meet the
