Planisware Architect

About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Lead for Planisware, responsible for design, configuration, and release management of Planisware along with Microsoft .Net suite applications. The role supports global users across SLB, providing L1 and L2 support, while coordinating with vendor L3 teams for development and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of standard and customized Planisware solutions to meet project management needs.
- Align Planisware functionality with business strategies and project goals in partnership with product management and IT leadership.Obtain and validate business requirements, use cases, and user stories from various delivery domains and communicate them to L3 teams.
- Define best practices and frameworks for customizing Planisware to accommodate evolving business needs.
- Develop and implement integration strategies to connect Planisware with other enterprise systems, optimizing API calls and minimizing performance issues and cost.
- Establish governance around Planisware usage, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform performance tuning.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams, serving as SPOC to the L3 in‑house/vendor teams.
- Review and validate the technical feasibility of designs proposed by L3 for change requests.
- Ensure adoption of Scrum and efficient DevOps processes within the team.
- Plan roll‑back scenarios and identify cases where roll‑backs are necessary.
Release Management
- Assist the technical team in designing and developing the release management process.
- Leverage expertise in Planisware modules such as Oscar and PMGo.
- Apply experience from designing and deploying Planisware in large‑scale organizations, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and SDLC practices.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
- Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and streamline build processes, including automating build and deployment.
- Report performance metrics and communicate release details and schedules to domain teams.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of overall support/development experience, with 5+ years on Planisware.
- Planisware Certification – Specialist or Expert.
- Minimum 4+ years in change and release management.
- 3–4 years of experience building web and desktop applications using React, Angular, Java, ASP.NET, etc.
- Strong understanding of consuming APIs through Single Page Applications.
- Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, and other database technologies.
Key Competencies
- In‑depth knowledge of change management processes and release modules.
- Comprehensive understanding of ITIL processes, including application change and release management.
- Experience leading multiple releases/projects in agile/scrum/kanban environments.
- Deep understanding of building Planisware‑based solutions, integration, and data migration.
- Proficiency with Azure IaaS/PaaS.
- Strong version management experience.
- Track record of driving process improvements in release management.
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Preferred experience in the oil & gas industry (not mandatory).
Other Skills and Abilities
- Self‑driven, proactive, and systems‑thinking.
- Willingness to travel abroad and across India.
- Comfortable with occasional extended hours during emergency releases.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning concepts (indexes, partitions, query tuning).
- Effective collaboration with diverse personality types.
