Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead design activities across pitch bearing programs within the OneWind organization, independently developing execution plans for highly complex deliverables with limited oversight.

You will guide NPI, validation, and lifecycle cost initiatives, collaborating with Systems, Sourcing, Materials, Services, Fleet Management and GE Suppliers to optimize rotor and turbine lifecycle cost while championing GD&T standards in drawings

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

Job Description Summary

This role will lead design activities across multiple pitch bearing programs within the Mechanical Subsystem Engineering segment, independently developing execution plans for highly complex deliverables with limited oversight. Responsibilities will include leading new product (NPI) design and development, total lifecycle cost, validation, productivity, and fleet support efforts for the OneWind organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide design expertise and FE analysis across pitch bearing programs within the OneWind organization, independently developing execution plans for complex, cross-program analyses.
• Lead design support for NPI, RCA/Quality, validation, and total lifecycle cost initiatives of pitch bearings across multiple programs, with limited oversight.
• Collaborate with and guide cross functional teams, including Systems, Sourcing, Sourcing Quality, Materials, Services, Fleet Management, Lab Testing, and GE Suppliers to drive optimum rotor and turbine lifecycle cost across programs.
• Lead the Multi Generation Product Plan (MGPP) support strategy and drive initiatives that deliver site specific customer value with pitch bearings.
• Drive technology needs and lead cross-program efforts to bring new technology into products.
• Independently develop and deliver cost out via component, subsystem, and system level redesigns across multiple pitch bearing designs.
• Apply and champion GD&T standards to create and review technical drawings and specifications.
• Lead testing activities across programs that resolve design validation/field issues/PAC activities, coordinating with the Fleet Support team and Regional Customer Solution teams.
• Responsible for highly complex assignments with long-term business implications across multiple programs, independently developing execution plans with limited oversight.
• Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences, including leadership.
• Lead hub mechanical subsystem problem solving and risk mitigation activities across programs.
• Partner with and help guide the Controlled Title Holders community across the business and global team to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade-off decisions, as well as design practice evolution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar from an accredited College or University
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience estimated
• Strong problem identification and solving ability across complex, cross-program challenges
• Work well within a cross matrixed, global organization in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, operating independently with limited oversight
• Strong interpersonal skills, leading and influencing skills, and a positive energy
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and resolve highly complex, cross-program problems
• Established project management skills; able to independently develop execution plans for complex, multi-program deliverables

• Experience with GD&T and fundamental technical drawing guidelines
