Job summary

Utkarsh Placement Pvt. Ltd. in India is seeking a Piping Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in CS, SS and FRP piping, focusing on fabrication, installation and testing on industrial projects.

You will bridge design intent and field execution to ensure safe, quality and cost-effective piping delivery. BE Mechanical is required. Strong knowledge of isometrics, MTOs, welding and NDT, QA/QC, site surveys, and coordination with design teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Be able to work on CS, SS and FRP piping on industrial/infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping design, engineering standards, and field execution practices.
• Experience with site surveys, MTOs, test procedures, and QA/QC documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise piping fabrication activities as per drawings/specifications.
• Supervise piping installation at site including orientation, routing and supports.
• Study 3D modelling, Isometrics, and MTO provided by consultants.
• Manage hydrostatic/pneumatic testing procedures and test pack preparation.
• Ensure welding practices and coordinate NDT as per codes.
• Interface with QA/QC for inspection holds, test documentation, and handover.
• Plan and monitor receipt of piping materials, fabrication and installation.
• Coordinate with detail engineering for designs, drawings and specs.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility reviews; support constructability assessments.
• Resolve field issues via TQ/RFI and coordinate with design/project teams.
• Ensure safety, environmental and quality standards during execution.
• Liaise with vendors/subcontractors for timely delivery and execution.
• Prepare construction documents, method statements and testing records.
• Assist in as-built drawings and project handover documents.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Piping Engineer with sound experience in piping fabrication, installation, and testing of CS, SS and FRP piping across industrial and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of piping design, engineering standards, and site execution practices. This role bridges the gap between design intent and field execution, ensuring safe, quality, and cost-effective piping system delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication, Installation & Testing:

• Supervise and execute piping fabrication activities in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Supervise piping installation at site, ensuring correct orientation, routing, and supports.
• Study of 3D modelling, Isometrics, MTO provided by the consultant
• Manage testing procedures (hydrostatic, pneumatic) including test pack preparation, system walk-downs, and punch list resolution.
• Ensure proper welding practices and coordination of NDT activities as per codes.
• Interface with QA/QC for inspection hold points, test documentation, and system completion.
• Plan, monitor and update receipt of piping materials, fabrication and installation piping and supports on daily, weekly and monthly basis
• Coordinate with Detail Engineering consultant for designs, drawings and specifications

Construction & Field Engineering:

• Conduct site surveys, feasibility reviews, and support constructability assessments.
• Resolve field issues through technical queries (TQ/RFI) and coordinate with design and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards during execution.

Coordination & Documentation:

• Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams for timely material delivery and execution.
• Prepare and maintain construction documents, method statements, and testing records.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings, redline mark-ups, and project handover documents.

Technical Skills Required:

Execution-Focused:

• In-depth knowledge of site piping fabrication and erection.
• Familiarity with isometric drawings, spool drawings, and site sketches.
• Knowledge of pipe support types, installation practices, and structural interfaces.

Design Understanding (for coordination):

• Interpretation of P&IDs, PFDs, and piping layouts.
• Awareness of 3D models and ability to coordinate field execution with design intent.
• Understanding of hydraulic principles, pipe sizing, and pressure drop calculations.

Codes and Standards:

• Proficiency in ASME B31.3 / B31.1, ASTM, API, ANSI standards.
• Familiarity with NACE standards for corrosion resistance.
• Knowledge of client-specific and regional regulatory requirements.

Project Execution & Management:

• Experience in material take-offs (MTOs), quantity tracking, and resource planning.
• Understanding of schedule-driven project delivery, manpower planning, and coordination.
• Capability to support progress reporting, cost tracking, and risk management.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills to interface with engineers, vendors, contractors, and site teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset to resolve field-level challenges quickly.
• Adaptability to dynamic site conditions and evolving project demands.
• Diligent with reporting, documentation, and compliance tracking.

Greenfield Project Experience (Preferred):

• Experience in early-stage site development, access planning, and infrastructure setup.
• Ability to work on plot plans and system layout from concept through construction.
• Understanding of permitting and environmental compliance.
