Job summary

GE Vernova in Bengaluru is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Plant Piping and Arrangement. You will support Lead Engineer with technical design and coordinate with customers and suppliers during project execution.

Role requires 0-2 years of experience, knowledge of piping arrangements, and familiarity with industry standards. The position offers opportunities for cross-discipline collaboration and travel for workshop inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical engineering from a well recognized university.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Design know-how of GT/ST/Generator/HRSG Plant and Piping arrangement.
• Know and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems/ components.
• Knowledge of codes and standards like ANSI, ASME, NFPA, TAC, LPC, UL, FM, IEC, VDE, etc.
• Knowledge of interfaces especially on controls systems & electrical interfaces.
• Proficiency with GTCC-PLM, AVEVA, Project Tool Suite, Power-Now, Confluence and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Represents discipline’s engineering scope in the project team.
• Design in 2D or 3D and produce deliverables for mechanical arrangement.
• Ensures technical coordination for subcontracted engineering services.
• Coordinates mechanical arrangement interfaces for GE Vernova product integration.
• Coordinates mechanical arrangement interfaces for BOP process/mechanical equipment.
• Provides input to complex technical problems and related decisions with Lead Engineer Arrangement.

Job Description Summary

Plant Piping and Arrangement department is globally responsible for the execution of projects and initiatives with a wide scope and high impact activities around GT/ST/Generator/HRSG Plant Piping and arrangement i.e. Lube oil, gas fuel, liquid fuel, water injection, water wash, cooling water, steam systems Engineer –Plant Piping and Arrangement shall be responsible to support Lead Engineer & Technical leader for technical design & engineering activities of GT/ST/Generator/HRSG plant piping and arrangement for combined cycle power plant projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, customers & suppliers during project execution phase.

Roles and Responsibilities

• represents his/ her discipline’s engineering scope in the project team.
• design in 2D or 3D and produce deliverables associated to the engineering discipline’s scope of work MECHANICAL ARRANGEMENT which mainly covers General layouts, Mechanical Equipment/Piping Arrangement and Civil Guide activities.
• ensures technical coordination for subcontracted engineering services.
• coordinates mechanical arrangement interfaces for the GE Vernova product integration (GT, ST, Generator, HRSG, etc...) into the Power Plant considering external interfaces (Customer, Consortium Partners, subcontractors, etc...).
• coordinates mechanical arrangement interfaces for integration of the BOP process/mechanical equipment.
• creates concept and proposes design for underground network of gravity lines (including pits, collectors…) , pressurized pipes, electrical cable ducts, MCW systems, firefighting systems.
• provides, in collaboration with the Lead Engineer Arrangement, input to complex technical problems and opportunities that may affect the project and takes related decisions.
• involves coordination with project management, other project functions, engineering disciplines, product lines, commercial operations (if applicable), Architectural/ Engineering Service providers and Partners.
• implies collaboration and close, responsive, and productive working relationships GE internally as well as with external Customers and Partners.
• ensures GE Vernova technical credibility and brand.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of Interfaces specially on controls systems & electrical interfaces
• Good knowledge of engineering, design and project management tools and methods e.g. GTCC-PLM, AVEVA, Project Tool Suite, Power-Now, Confluence etc.
