Piping Designer (Revit)

Job Description: Piping Designer with Revit MEP Expertise

We are seeking a skilled Piping Designer proficient in Revit MEP to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed piping system models, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

1. Create 3D models of piping systems using Revit MEP, ensuring alignment with project specifications and codes.
2. Develop and modify piping system designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
3. Collaborate closely with engineers and team members to develop detailed design documents and 3D models.
4. Create and update isometric drawings, layouts, and schematics for piping systems using Revit.
5. Ensure coordination between piping designs and other disciplines (HVAC, electrical, architectural) to prevent clashes.
6. Conduct clash detection and resolve design issues prior to construction for seamless system integration.
7. Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), including equipment and piping specifications, using Revit tools.
8. Adhere to industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, and NFPA.
9. Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
10. Support construction and fabrication teams by preparing accurate design documents, drawings, and specifications.
11. Assist in preparing and maintaining design reports, schedules, and budgets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in Revit MEP, especially for piping systems design.
2. Strong understanding of piping design principles, industry codes, and standards.
3. Experience with 3D modeling of piping systems, including detailed layouts and isometrics.
4. Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems and their integration in Revit.
5. Ability to conduct clash detection using tools like Navisworks or Revit interference check.
6. Familiarity with MEP systems including piping, ducting, and electrical conduit layouts.
7. Ability to manage BOMs and accurately estimate material requirements.
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
9. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• LEED or related certifications preferred.
• Experience with additional tools such as Navisworks, Revit Structure, or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Knowledge of industry standards and BIM workflows.
• Minimum of 2 years of Revit-based piping design experience.
