Job summary

Padink Engineering invites a piping design specialist to join our project teams in Jharkhand. You will develop intelligent 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D for mineral processing units, and design layouts with a focus on constructability and maintainability.

You will extract GA drawings, isometrics, and maintain piping specifications and catalogs in Plant 3D, while coordinating with structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure clash-free designs and compliance with ASME

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D piping modeling and layout design in industrial plants (min. 3–5 years).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D for process plants and equipment layouts.
• Ability to coordinate across structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical teams and conduct model reviews.

Responsibilities

• Create GA drawings, sections, details and isometrics from Plant 3D models.
• Develop and maintain piping specifications, standards, and catalogs within Plant 3D.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clash-free designs using Navisworks or Plant 3D clash detection.
• Extract reliable MTOs for procurement and estimation directly from the Plant 3D model.
• Ensure designs comply with ASME B31.1/B31.3 and client standards.
• Participate in 30%, 60%, 90% model reviews and address audit comments.

Job Description:

3D Modeling & Layout Design:

• Develop intelligent 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D for various mineral processing units (e.g., crushing/grinding, flotation, thickeners, tailings disposal, slurry handling, and water treatment systems).
• Design equipment layouts, plot plans, and routing configurations keeping constructability, operability, and maintainability in mind.

Drawing Production:

• Extract and generate accurate Piping General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sections, details, and construction-ready piping isometric drawings.
• Create and maintain standard piping specifications, support standards, and component catalogs within Plant 3D.

Inter-Disciplinary Coordination:

• Interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and translate them accurately into physical piping layouts.
• Coordinate closely with structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure clash-free designs using Navisworks or Plant 3D clash detection tools.
• Coordinate with pipe stress engineers to integrate anchor, guide, and spring support requirements into the layout.

Material Take-Offs (MTO) & Procurement Support:

• Extract reliable material take-offs (MTOs) for pipes, fittings, valves, and supports directly from the Plant 3D model for procurement and estimation purposes.

Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.1 / B31.3) as well as client-specific engineering standards.
• Participate in model review meetings (30%, 60%, 90% model reviews) and resolve audit comments systematically.
