About the Role
ExxonMobil is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to provide Pipeline Integrity technical support and expertise to its oil and gas production operations. The candidate will be part of ExxonMobil's Integrity team in ExxonMobil Services & Technology Private Limited, working out of EMSTPL’s Bangalore Campus (Prestige Shantiniketan) in India. Responsibilities include working with multidisciplinary teams to execute, establish and improvise pipeline integrity related work processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute, establish, and improvise integrity work processes for pipelines.
- In‑line inspection tool selection, data management, and analysis.
- Pipeline direct assessment (ECDA/ICDA).
- Cathodic protection system data analysis.
- Pipeline casing/ road crossing/ water crossing evaluation.
- Overall integrity effectiveness and management including criticality assessments, threat assessments, consequence assessments, development of fit‑for‑purpose risk‑based strategies, setting optimum task intervals, reviewing inspection findings, and updating strategies.
- Development and implementation of pipeline integrity management programs.
- Scope of work and repair pack preparation for pipeline integrity activities.
- Monitoring and surveillance of integrity parameters.
- Integrity assessment activities such as FFS, corrosion evaluations, remaining life studies, and defect assessment.
- Technical oversight and stewardship of integrity work product metrics.
- Representation at project locations, vendor premises, and business units.
- Coordination and communication between global centers and business affiliates.
- Technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineers.
- Data analytics, digital tools/technologies and operationalizing upgraded work practices through digital transformation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Pipeline, Materials, Metallurgy, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines from a recognized university with a CGPA > 6.5 (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pipeline integrity management with an operating company or pipeline integrity technology service provider.
- Experience covering governing codes & standards, data collection, threat identification (corrosion mechanisms, third‑party damage, etc.).
- Experience in cathodic protection surveys, pipe route surveys, coating defect assessment and analysis.
- Experience in pipeline pigging or intelligent pigging inspection, tool selection, or results assessment.
- Experience in inspection methods and tools, integrity assessments (feature matching, defect evaluation, remaining life or fitness‑for‑service assessments).
- Experience in scenario‑based risk assessments and recommendations to sites.
- Ability to adapt to an agile work environment, keep up to date with industry standards and practices, and improvise company work processes.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- In-depth knowledge of API 580/581, API 1163, API 1169, NACE SP0169, NACE SP0177, ASME B31G, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME PCC‑2, BS/ISO/EN/AS Standards, AWS/CSWIP/ASNT NDT techniques.
- Experience in internal/external corrosion monitoring, coupon/probe analysis and recommendation to chemical management team.
- Developing and implementing Integrity Management programs and associated procedures.
- Knowledge of pipeline construction/installation/pre‑commissioning & startup activities.
- Knowledge of fatigue life analysis and cycling service management.
- Knowledge of basic and advanced NDE techniques.
- Reviewing/approving risk‑based inspection strategies, work scopes, welding/major repair plans.
- Working knowledge of pipeline integrity management software.
- Knowledge of Power BI, basic SQL and Python (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, adaptability and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to travel internationally as business needs require.
