Job summary

Apollo Pharmacy is hiring for a Pharmacist role. You will attend doctors’ prescriptions, advise dosage, dispense drugs and coordinate substitutions while ensuring prescription compliance and accurate billing.

You will counsel patients on health, medicine reactions, and manage free home delivery inquiries and cash handling at the counter. You will also manage cold chain storage, stock entries, daily verifications, and strive to meet pharmacy targets with diligent inventory control and shift

Qualifications

• Eligibility for candidates with D. Pharm / B. Pharm / M. Pharm qualification with a valid PCI License.
• If PCI license is pending, consider the Trainee Pharmacist pathway as advised.

Responsibilities

• Attend to prescriptions at the sales counter, advise dosage and dispense medicines.
• Consult with doctors on substitutions and ensure bill vs. medicines align with patient details.
• Counsel patients on health, drug reactions and maintain doctor relationships.
• Store drugs under proper refrigeration and security conditions.
• Enter stocks in the system, verify receipts and maintain stock records, twice weekly tallies.
• Focus on sales targets and handle billing tasks as required.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prescription Filling: Attend to doctors’ prescriptions at the sales counter, advise dosage, dispense drugs, arrange unavailable medicines from in-house pharmacies ensuring 100% prescription compliance. Consult with doctors on medicine substitutions. Cross‑check issued medicines with the bill in terms of patient name, item name, quantity, expiry, and acknowledge the bill.
• Customer Service: Counsel patients/customers on health, medicine reactions; maintain good relations with customers/doctors; maintain a free home delivery register and follow up deliveries in a timely manner. Handle inbound calls focusing on drug information, patient counselling/education, and free home delivery orders. Handle patient queries and issues regarding drug therapy and drug information. Handle cash at the billing counter as required.
• Cold Chain Management: Store drugs under proper refrigeration and security conditions.
• Inventory Management & Sales: Enter stocks in the computer system, print receipts from stores for cross‑checking with item issue lists; maintain records for out‑of‑stock items and follow up. Ensure 100% physical stock is tallied per category (tablets, syrups, injections, fluids, ointments, liquids, capsules, powders, drops, surgicals, miscellaneous) twice a week. Perform daily rack‑wise verification of fast‑moving items. Ensure shift hand‑over/take‑over before leaving. Focus on sales and strive to attain pharmacy targets. Verify quantity, MRP, batch number, and expiry date of received items.
• Bill Management: Perform any other job assigned by the in‑charge as per exigencies of work.
