Job description

Pharmacist - Clinical & Operations

About Hoola Health Parenting comes with questions, chaos, joy, and more than a few sleepless nights and through it all, what every parent needs is a support system that just gets it. Hoola health (formerly babymd) was created to be exactly that. Our founder, Deeksha Senguttuvan, spent years working in healthcare and technology, but it was her close interactions with parents that revealed the real gap in paediatric care. Families were either navigating large hospitals with long waits and little personal connection, or relying on scattered, inconsistent care. There had to be a better way. So in 2024, we began with one clinic and a simple mission: to make paediatric care feel closer, calmer, and kinder. Today, hoola health is a growing network of neighbourhood clinics offering everything from consultations and vaccinations to developmental assessments and therapy services all under one roof. We're proud to be open 7 days a week, backed by a team that listens rst, treats with heart, and partners with parents every step of the way.

Job Description: As a Pharmacist at Hoola Health, you will play a crucial role in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to children and their parents. Beyond standard pharmacy operations, this role involves providing clinical support for pediatric immunizations, maintaining strict inventory and cold-chain compliance, and ensuring a seamless, reassuring experience for visiting families.

Role:
  • Accurate Dispensing: Dispense medications accurately and safely as per medical prescriptions.
  • Prescription Verification: Verify prescription details, dosage, frequency, and duration prior to dispensing.
  • Parent Counseling: Explain medication dosage, timing, storage instructions, and basic precautions clearly to parents and careseekers.
Responsibilities:

Stock Management: Maintain adequate stock levels, monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and critical pediatric medicines to prevent stock-outs, and place timely reorders with the central team.

Expiry & Storage Protocol: Check medicine expiry dates regularly, strictly follow FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) guidelines, and isolate expired, damaged, or near-expiry medicines per clinic policy.

Billing & Documentation: Ensure accurate billing for all dispensed medicines, vaccines, and services; double-check billed items against prescriptions before concluding transactions.

Vaccine Package Promotion: Pitch and explain relevant vaccination packages, schedules, pricing, and inclusions clearly to parents.

Pharmacy Maintenance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and professional arrangement within the pharmacy area.

Clinical Support & Immunization Assistance

Vitals & Patient Care: Assist nursing staff with checking and recording pediatric vitals when required.

Immunization Records: Accurately enter and update immunization records as per the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) schedule after verifying the child's previous vaccination history.

Due Tracking: Identify upcoming or due vaccinations and proactively inform the attending nurse or doctor.

Vaccine Preparation: Support doctors during vaccination procedures by preparing and loading vaccines safely as instructed.

Cold-Chain Maintenance: Ensure vaccines are handled and stored strictly according to cold-chain storage guidelines, verifying name, batch number, expiry date, and dosage prior to preparation.

Vaccination Drive Support: Support vaccine camps and clinic drives, ensuring adequate availability of vaccination consumables, proper documentation, and smooth patient ow.

Inventory Control, Audits & Compliance

Stock Reconciliation: Conduct regular physical stock audits and reconcile any inventory discrepancies.

Inward/Outward Records: Receive incoming shipments, verify batch numbers, quantities, and condition, and immediately report damaged or missing items to central stores.

Regulated Medicines: Ensure controlled or restricted medications are handled, logged, and stored in accordance with statutory compliance guidelines.

Audit Readiness: Maintain ongoing pharmacy readiness for internal and external quality/compliance inspections.

Patient Experience & Clinic Support

Patient Satisfaction: Provide courteous, warm, and professional assistance to parents, helping reduce waiting times through efficient processing.

Escalations & Safety: Escalate clinical queries, prescription discrepancies, or adverse medication reactions immediately to the appropriate medical team.

Confidentiality & SOPs: Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere strictly to clinic SOPs, hygiene protocols, and safety standards.

Qualification and Skills:

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy operations.

Education & Registration: Diploma (D.Pharm) or Bachelor's (B.Pharm) in Pharmacy with a valid State Pharmacy Council registration (mandatory).

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with parents and young children.

Pediatric / Vaccine Familiarity: Prior experience with pediatric formulations, cold-chain handling, or IAP immunization schedules is a strong advantage.
