New Delhi, October 9, 2026: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the post of Director (Operations, Research & Development) in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise.

The vacancy will arise on 1 February 2027. The selected candidate will be appointed for a period of five years or until the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

About the Role

The Director (Operations, Research & Development) is a Board-level position and reports to the Chairman & Managing Director of BHEL. The incumbent will be responsible for all operational activities of the company, including Research & Development (both short-term and long-term), as well as procurement-related matters.

Qualification: Engineering graduate from a recognised University/Institution

Experience: Minimum five years of cumulative experience during the last ten years in one or more areas of Operations, Manufacturing, Research & Development, Engineering or Projects in the Capital Goods or Power Sector

Age: Minimum 45 years (with prescribed residual service requirements)

Eligible candidates from Central Public Sector Enterprises, Central Government (including All India Services and Armed Forces), State PSEs and private sector companies meeting the turnover criteria can apply.
