Join us as a Performance Test Lead at Barclays. You will support the successful delivery of location strategy projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. Responsibilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization''s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Performance Testing Tools & Frameworks: Hands-on expertise with LoadRunner, Jmeter, or similar tools for load, stress, and volume testing.
  • Java Spring Boot Microservices Architecture: Deep understanding of microservices performance characteristics, inter-service communication, and distributed system bottlenecks.
  • Database Performance Analysis: Proficient in Oracle database performance tuning, query optimization, connection pooling, and database monitoring tools.
  • Kafka & Message Queue Performance: Experience testing and analyzing Kafka clusters, message throughput, consumer lag, and event-driven architecture performance.
  • APM & Monitoring Tools: Experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools like AppDynamics or Prometheus/Grafana.
  • DevOps & CI/CD Integration: Ability to integrate performance tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines and implement shift-left performance testing practices.
  • Containerization Performance: Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes performance implications, resource limits, and container orchestration impact on application performance.
  • Process Improvement: Establish performance testing standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across the organization.
