Job summary

Finzly is seeking a Performance Development Engineer with strong Java, Spring Boot, and microservices experience to build performance testing frameworks and optimize high-throughput distributed applications.

The role emphasizes JVM tuning, monitoring, and integrating workloads into CI/CD pipelines, using Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, CloudWatch, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in performance engineering and distributed systems.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot to understand application flows.
• Experience analyzing telemetry and system metrics for optimization.
• Proficiency with REST APIs, SQL, and JSON data handling.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, APM).

Responsibilities

• Build scalable performance testing utilities and frameworks.
• Analyze response times, throughput, CPU/memory metrics and GC behavior.
• Conduct load, stress, endurance, and capacity tests on high-throughput systems.
• Collaborate with dev teams to tune performance of code paths.
• Integrate performance workloads into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Use monitoring tools to evaluate system behavior and trends.
• Create dashboards, trend reports, and engineering recommendations.
• Participate in JVM tuning, database tuning, and microservice optimization.
• Learn new tools and cloud platforms as needed.

We are seeking a Performance Development Engineer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. The candidate will contribute to building performance testing frameworks, analyzing system performance, and optimizing high-throughput distributed applications

Key Responsibilities:

• Build scalable performance testing utilities, libraries, and frameworks to support ongoing performance validation.
• Apply strong understanding of performance metrics—response times, percentiles, throughput, concurrency, CPU, memory, GC, I/O, thread pools, DB latency.
• Perform load, stress, endurance, and capacity testing on high-throughput systems and payment rails.
• Collaborate with development teams to analyze code-level performance behavior, leveraging basic Java and Spring Boot knowledge.
• Integrate performance workloads into CI/CD frameworks (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Use monitoring and observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, CloudWatch, etc.) to evaluate system behavior.
• Create detailed performance dashboards, trend analysis reports, and engineering recommendations.
• Participate in JVM tuning, database tuning, infrastructure optimization, and microservice-level performance discussions.
• Quickly learn and adapt to new tools, frameworks, cloud platforms, and
  performance technologies as needed.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in creating reusable code for performance automation and workload generation.
• Solid understanding of performance engineering fundamentals and distributed system behaviors.
• Basic familiarity with Java and Spring Boot, enough to understand application flows and identify performance risks.
• Experience analyzing system telemetry: CPU, memory, heap usage, GC logs, thread dumps, and I/O metrics.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, JSON, microservice architecture, and event-driven systems.
• Good understanding of monitoring and analysis using Grafana, Prometheus, or APM tools (Dynatrace/AppDynamics).
• Ability to rapidly learn new tools and technologies in performance and observability domains.

Good to Have:

• Hands-on experience with Grafana K6 for performance scripting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms—AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and performance testing of microservices.
• Knowledge of messaging systems

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
