Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Daily Task List: ensure the Ops Team completes tasks on time and with proper documentation for compliance.
  • Query Handling: oversee payroll queries and provide timely resolutions via ServiceNow or groups.
  • Payroll Processing: ensure end-to-end payroll processing monthly and update employee records.
  • Data Management: check payroll data for accuracy and provide KPI reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration: work with internal teams to improve controls and mitigate risks.
  • Documentation & Training Management: maintain work instructions and multi-skill training plans.
  • Change Process: prepare test scripts and sign off on testing by the Ops Team.

About the role

In this role, you would be a part of the People & HR Service Delivery function.

The new People and HR Service Delivery function operationalises and enables HR processes to ensure a consistent and high-quality colleague experience. It serves as the primary gateway for all HR needs for colleagues and people managers, it focuses on efficiency and colleague experience by seamlessly running full employment cycle processes as part of the People and HR Service function, we deliver vital HR services that enable outstanding colleague experiences for all.

This role ensures colleagues are compensated accurately and on time, building trust and maintaining morale across the organization. By managing payroll operations effectively and ensuring compliance with complex regulations, the Payroll Professional plays a vital part in supporting the organization’s financial integrity and colleague satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing
Ownership of Daily Task List
  • Ensuring team complete daily tasks for Ops Team, ensuring work is allocated as per timetable, with volumes in mind and escalations are timely when needed.
  • Ensure all tasks completed accurately with no errors. Consideration of controls and ensure all documentation provided for Compliance lead.
Query Handling
  • Oversee and work closely with internal payroll teams, HR Ops, Reward.
  • Support with responses to payroll-related queries from colleagues and provide clear, timely resolutions via Servicenow, group inboxes or calls. Ensuring team respond and resolve within allocated KPIs.
Payroll Processing
  • Ensure Team accurately process end to end payroll according to monthly timetable.
  • Team maintain and update employee payroll records accurately.
  • Support Ops team processing of new hires, terminations, and changes to employee data (e.g., promotions, salary adjustments), statutory & voluntary deductions.
  • Distribute and sign off reports for checking when assigned to Ops team.
  • Carry out quality checks on all inputs & processing to ensure accuracy and identify any training needs.
Data Management
  • Check and analyse payroll data for accuracy from weekly/monthly runs and support team in resolving or highlighting any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Provide KPI and stats reporting to Senior Leader each month.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance control effectiveness and compliance.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation.
Documentation & Training Management
  • Maintain work instructions for Operational processes.
  • Maintain training plans and ensure team are multi skilled and trained across all Operational processes.
Change Process
  • Prepare test scripts and assess impact on Ops processes.
  • Check and sign off on testing performed by Ops Team.
