Job summary

A global payments enablement company is seeking a Payroll Professional in Pune, India. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of payroll experience in APAC regions, particularly in managing payroll for diverse employees across various countries. Job Description
The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Professional with a strong combination of technical payroll expertise and accounting fundamentals. The ideal candidate will have experience managing payroll across Singapore, India, China, Australia, and Japan, so experience in any of these countries is what we’re looking for.

  • Prepare and process payrolls for employees in the APAC & EMEA.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of semi‑monthly and monthly payroll files.
  • Work closely with the People Operations (HR) and Finance teams to ensure the accuracy of the payroll data. Including, but not limited to, data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, variable compensation inputs and job information changes.
  • Review employee’s expense reports.
  • Maintain the updated employee information in our tools (Expensify and Netsuite).
  • Carry out communication with Finance and payroll providers, creating and maintaining files as needed.
  • Ensure stock based compensation activity is accurately captured in employees pay profiles and related taxes are remitted to tax authorities.
  • Participate in month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing tasks.
  • Support the execution of annual statutory audits pursuant to the Sarbanes‑Oxley Act, as well as regional, internal, and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the timely delivery of audit documentation and responses.
  • Support other members of the finance team as needed.
Qualifications

Here’s what we are looking for:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of payroll experience in APAC countries.
  3. Strong accounting knowledge, including: payroll reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close support.
  4. MUST have experience in ADP.
  5. Experience working within a SOX‑controlled environment and understanding of internal controls.
  6. Knowledge of labor laws, social security regulations, and payroll tax compliance.
  7. Experience with NetSuite or similar cloud‑based ERP systems.
  8. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  9. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
