A leading educational firm in India is seeking an Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop and review instructional content for short-form courses on payroll and U.S. compliance. This role involves collaborating with instructional designers to ensure accurate course materials and compliance with regulations. This is a contract position requiring a commitment of up to 35 hours per course over four weeks.

Scholastika is looking for an Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong experience in Payroll Cycle and U.S. compliance to support instructional content writing and course development for short‑form learning courses (1–3 hours).

Responsibilities

• Write and review instructional content including concept explanations, case studies, scenarios, and learning scripts related to payroll processing and compliance.
• Collaborate with Instructional Designers to create structured course outlines covering the end‑to‑end payroll cycle, from gross pay calculation to tax filing (Form 941).
• Ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment with U.S. payroll laws including FLSA and ACA.
• Review and refine assessments, practice activities, and lab content for correctness and learning alignment.
• Support the development and review of slide decks and payroll software demonstrations (Kronos).
• Review demo scripts and storyboards to ensure technical and compliance accuracy.
• Incorporate client and stakeholder feedback into content revisions.

Requirements

• Background in Accounting with hands‑on experience in Payroll Management and U.S. Compliance.
• Proven ability to write clear, accurate instructional or technical content.
• Strong attention to detail and compliance accuracy.
• Experience in training, instructional design support, or online content development is preferred.

Time Commitment

• Up to 35 hours per course over 4 weeks.
• Availability for collaboration calls, especially during the initial phase.
