We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Apprentice to join a global Finance team and gain hands-on experience in payroll operations within a fast-growing, remote-first environment. This six-month apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to understand how payroll processes work in an international organization while developing practical skills in data management, reporting, and administrative coordination. Working under the guidance of an experienced Payroll Manager, you will support daily operations, manage payroll-related requests, maintain documentation, and assist with Excel-based reporting. You will also explore how AI-powered tools can improve administrative efficiency and streamline routine processes. Designed for recent graduates and aspiring finance professionals, this role provides structured training, regular feedback, and practical exposure without requiring previous payroll experience. It is an ideal starting point for building a career in payroll, finance operations, or human resources.

Accountabilities
  • Payroll Inbox and Communication Support: Monitor the India Payroll inbox, organize incoming requests, categorize emails, and direct queries to the appropriate team members. Prepare routine acknowledgements and status updates for review before distribution.
  • Ticket Tracking and Follow-up: Record, monitor, and update payroll-related tickets and requests, ensuring information remains accurate and current. Follow up with relevant stakeholders on outstanding items and identify recurring queries that could be addressed through improved FAQs or self-service resources.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Assist with preparing, formatting, and updating Excel-based reports and trackers. Monitor ticket volumes, request categories, and turnaround times while supporting payroll-related data entry, validation, and information clean-up.
  • Process Documentation and Knowledge Management: Help create and maintain checklists, quick-reference guides, FAQs, and internal process documentation. Keep shared files and knowledge repositories organized, accurate, and up to date.
  • AI and Process Improvement: Explore practical applications of AI-powered tools for administrative tasks, including drafting, summarizing, and organizing information. Share suggestions and contribute to small initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and standardising workflows.
  • Coordination and Administrative Support: Maintain team trackers, monitor action items, and coordinate with stakeholders across Payroll, People Operations, IT, and other departments. Provide day-to-day administrative assistance and maintain a training log with regular supervisor reviews.
  • Learning and Development: Participate in structured onboarding, training activities, and regular progress reviews. Complete assigned tasks under the supervision of the Payroll Manager or designated team members, incorporating feedback and following established procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline, such as B.Com, BBA, BA, or B.Sc. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • No previous payroll experience is required; structured training and ongoing guidance will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy when handling information and performing administrative tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with an interest in developing spreadsheet and reporting skills.
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, trackers, and routine reports.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage follow-ups and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Interest in learning how AI-powered tools can support administrative processes and improve workplace efficiency.
  • A proactive, curious, and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn, accept feedback, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams while working in a remote environment.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in Payroll, Human Resources, Finance Operations, or related fields.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM India Standard Time.
Benefits
  • Monthly stipend: INR 35,000 throughout the six-month apprenticeship.
  • Work arrangement: Fully remote opportunity, available to candidates based in India.
  • Programme duration: Six-month structured apprenticeship starting in November 2026.
  • Practical experience: Hands-on exposure to payroll operations, employee queries, ticket management, reporting, and administrative processes.
