Fintech Partnership Manager – Sr. Assoc – Corporate Development & Partnerships (Payments)

The Payments Corporate Development & Partnerships (CD&P) team identifies competitive advantages for the business, leveraging investments, M&A, and partnerships to enhance JPM Payments' strategic positioning. The Partnerships function collaborates with the Payments business, cross-LOB, and corporate functions to evaluate, structure, and execute potential partnerships to fill product gaps, create distribution channels, or drive innovation. The role involves significant external and internal engagement to help drive strategy and identify areas where we can add value. In addition to identifying new opportunities, a key part of the role will be managing relationships with our existing partners and driving revenue growth and client updates for these partnerships.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate opportunities by conducting market research to find potential fintech partners that align with the bank's strategic objectives, addressing product capability gaps and customer needs.
- Develop business cases by utilizing strong market knowledge and analytical skills to work with Sales and Product colleagues to establish, and obtain sign‑off for, strong business cases that justify strategic decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fintech companies, negotiating and executing partnership agreements that drive mutual value and support the bank's innovation goals.
- Collaborate closely with product, technology, compliance, conduct, operational risk (CCOR), and legal teams to ensure seamless integration of fintech solutions, and facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and partners.
- Commercialize fintech solutions by developing and implementing strategies to market and monetize these solutions, and tracking revenue to assess financial impact and success.
- Monitor and report performance of fintech partnerships with a strong emphasis on governance from onboarding to commercialization, providing regular updates and insights to regional management on partnership outcomes and strategic impact.
Stay Informed on Global Payments Trends
Keep abreast of the latest developments in the fintech industry, including emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of work experience in financial services, with at least 4 years in Payments, ideally in Product or Partnerships roles.
- Proven experience in market research, product, commercial partnerships, business development, or a related role within financial services or fintech.
- Strong understanding of fintech trends, technologies, and business models.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to senior management.
- Strong analytical, fact‑based writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, management and relationship‑building skills.
- Understanding of the fintech ecosystem and payments industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
- Logical, analytical approach with commercial acumen, able to identify trends and patterns.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and self‑manage deadlines and deliverables, clearly articulating progress and milestones.
- Team‑oriented collaborative approach with independent thought leadership.
