Job summary

Chadha & Chadha in Gurugram is seeking a Patent Paralegal to support patent attorneys and agents in managing portfolios and related documentation in a full-time, on-site role.

Responsibilities include preparing, organizing, and filing patent applications, tracking deadlines, reviewing technical and legal information, and coordinating with clients and foreign associates to ensure compliance and timely status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, science, engineering, or related discipline; paralegal or IP certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Patent Law and related IP procedures.
• Experience with Patent Prosecution, including managing office actions and deadlines.
• Proficient in Legal Document Preparation and case file management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• The Patent Paralegal will support patent attorneys and agents in managing patent portfolios and related documentation in a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. Responsibilities include preparing, organizing, and filing patent applications and related legal documents, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate records in internal and external IP management systems.
• The role involves assisting with patent prosecution, including coordinating communications with patent offices, preparing responses and formal documents, and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
• The Patent Paralegal will also review technical and legal information for completeness, liaise with clients and foreign associates on required documentation, and support reporting and status updates.
• Collaboration with internal teams to streamline processes and uphold quality and confidentiality standards is an integral part of the position.

Qualification & Expeirence

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Patent Law and related IP procedures.
• Ability to handle Patent Applications and Patent Preparation, including drafting, organizing, and formatting documents.
• Experience in Patent Prosecution, including managing office actions, deadlines, and communications with patent offices.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation and management of case files, correspondence, and formalities.
• Bachelor’s degree in law, science, engineering, or a related discipline; a paralegal or IP certification is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple matters and deadlines in a structured manner.
• Comfort with legal and IP management software, MS Office tools, and electronic filing systems.
• Prior experience in an IP law firm or corporate IP department is preferred.
