Job summary

Generac is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer II in Pune to validate CES products including power converters, load management modules, transfer switches, and energy storage devices. You will design and execute test plans, perform system-level validation, and document results.

You will analyze root causes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers to ensure robust performance from development through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience with PCBA design and manufacturing.
• Firmware development and validation experience.
• Experience with high power electronics.
• Experience with renewable energy products and energy storage systems.
• Hands-on testing with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other test equipment/meters.
• Experience developing Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing on CES products, assembling test systems, wiring, configuring products, and conducting tests.
• Work with stored energy and high AC/DC current and voltage.
• Support the development of component and system Test Plans and Test Procedures.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for issues identified during development, manufacturing or field.
• Document Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, and technical issues.
• Drive resolution of technical issues and elevate significant issues to engineering leadership.
• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize complex designs.
• Mentor and teach less experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Electrical Test Engineer II will be directly involved in the testing and overall validation of our CES products including power converters, load management modules, transfer switches, and energy storage devices. This person will drive component and system level validation, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions for any issues identified during the validation process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing on our CES products including the assembly of test systems, wiring, configuring products and load banks, and conducting component and system level tests.
• This testing involves working with stored energy and high levels of AC/DC current and voltage.
• Support the development of component and system level Test Plans and Test Procedures.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for issues identified during the development process, manufacturing process and/or field.
• Formally document Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, and any technical issues.
• Drive the resolution of technical issues and elevate significant issues to engineering leadership.
• Collaborate with other engineers, internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize complex designs.
• Mentor and teach less experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with PCBA design and manufacturing.
• Firmware development and validation experience.
• Experience with the design and development of high power electronics.
• Experience with renewable energy products and energy storage systems.
• Hands on experience running tests on complex electronic components and/or systems including the use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other various electronic test equipment/meters.
• Experience developing component and/or system level Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Competence and experience working with stored energy and high levels of AC/DC current and voltage.
• Skills and experience determining the root cause of complex electronic hardware issues identified during testing, manufacturing or in the field.
