Job summary

Kinet Railway Solutions Limited seeks an experienced Spray Painter to prepare surfaces and apply coatings for railway coaches and components. Responsibilities include surface prep, rust removal, primer and finish coats, and strict adherence to railway safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, degrease, sand, and prepare metal surfaces before painting.
  • Remove rust, old paint, and contaminants using mechanical or chemical methods.
  • Apply putty, primer, and surface fillers as required.
  • Perform spray painting using air spray, airless spray, or electrostatic equipment.
  • Apply primer, intermediate coats, and finishing coats as per specifications.
  • Ensure uniform thickness, smooth finish, and colour consistency.
  • Mix paints, thinners, and hardeners according to technical specifications.
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of paints and chemicals.
  • Monitor paint consumption and minimize wastage.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, bubbles, or uneven coating.
  • Ensure coating thickness and finish meet railway standards.
  • Perform touch-ups and rework when necessary.
  • Clean and maintain spray guns, compressors, hoses, and related equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunction to the supervisor.
  • Follow safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Adhere to environmental and hazardous material handling guidelines.
  • Maintain housekeeping and a safe work environment.

Job description

The Spray Painter is responsible for surface preparation and spray painting of railway coaches, wagons, and related components to ensure high-quality finish, corrosion protection, and compliance with railway safety and quality standards.


Your profile

Surface Preparation


  • Clean, degrease, sand, and prepare metal surfaces before painting.

  • Remove rust, old paint, and contaminants using mechanical or chemical methods.

  • Apply putty, primer, and surface fillers as required.


Spray Painting


  • Perform spray painting using air spray, airless spray, or electrostatic equipment.

  • Apply primer, intermediate coats, and finishing coats as per specifications.

Material Handling
