Pain Management & Palliative Care - Anesthesiologist

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose patients with chronic or acute pain conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Perform interventional procedures such as nerve blocks and injections
  • Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care
  • Educate patients on pain management techniques and lifestyle changes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Participate in continuing medical education and training
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
  • Provide follow-up care and adjust treatments as needed
  • Provide consultative services on medicine and surgical patients, in both ICU and non-ICU settings
  • Conduct daily rounds
  • Work with an Interdisciplinary Palliative Care team (Physician, Social Worker, Chaplain, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow)
  • Provide comprehensive pain and symptom management
  • Assist with clarifying goals of care
  • Provide support to patients and families
  • Demonstrate Swedish core values of respect, justice, compassion, stewardship, and excellence to customers, employees, and visitors
  • Promote spiritual/emotional support among staff and volunteers
  • Make initial spiritual assessment
  • Determine and support spiritual practices in keeping with the patients and familys religious tradition
