Job summary

• Exposure to Oracle APEX or shell scripting is a plus.
• Experience with high-volume financial/core accounting databases.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Database Development: Design, build, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and materialized views to support business applications.
• Performance Tuning: Analyze execution plans (Explain Plan), optimizer costs, and indexes to diagnose and optimize slow-running SQL queries and PL/SQL blocks.
• Bulk Data Handling: Implement efficient bulk processing techniques using BULK COLLECT and FORALL constructs with LIMIT clauses to minimize context switching and manage memory effectively.
• Data Integration & ETL: Utilize utilities like Oracle SQL*Loader to load, validate, and process flat/CSV files into core database tables, ensuring proper handling of bad and discarded records.
• Collections & Data Structures: Apply appropriate PL/SQL collection types (Associative Arrays, Nested Tables, VARRAYs) based on business requirements and database persistence needs.
• Database Maintenance & Support: Manage transactional operations, differentiate between DDL and DML implementations (e.g., DELETE vs. TRUNCATE), and maintain secure data views.

Qualifications & Experience: -

• Database Core: Strong proficiency in Oracle Database architecture, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Performance Optimization: Direct experience reading Execution Plans, using Cost-Based Optimization (CBO) concepts, and configuring composite or function-based indexes.
• PL/SQL Mastery: Deep understanding of cursors, exception handling, dynamic SQL, and collections (Associative Arrays, Nested Tables, VARRAYs).
• Data Migration Utilities: Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL*Loader and handling control files, log files, and bad files.
• Views & Storage: In-depth knowledge of simple/complex views, materialized view refresh options, and schema design.
• Prior experience working on high-volume financial, loan processing, or core accounting database applications.
• Exposure to Oracle Application Express (APEX) or shell scripting is a plus
