Job summary

Strada is a leading global provider of people, payroll and technology solutions, seeking a Payroll Specialist to support US payroll operations from Mumbai, India.

You will coordinate daily payroll activities, assist clients on payroll questions, and prepare detailed reports and RCA analyses. The role requires focus on US payroll laws, strong Excel skills, and shift flexibility with EST hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of expertise in US payroll under US laws and tax obligations.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, Macros).
• Subject Matter Expertise in payroll testing, mapping, reporting and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 3 years Degree/Diploma required.
• Flexibility towards shift (EST US shifts).
• FPC or payroll certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day payroll activities with Payroll TL and Payroll manager.
• Provide assistance to clients on payroll related questions.
• Prepare payroll reports and distribute to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Tax and Garnishment teams to ensure smooth payroll processes.
• Train T2 resources on payroll processes.
• Prepare process documents for payroll tasks.
• Review and sign off on payroll transmittal reports.
• Manage payroll team in TL's absence.
• Coordinate payroll transmittal activities and ensure timely payroll runs.
• Prepare detailed RCA for payroll issues/escalations with preventive actions.
• Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records.

Main Responsibilities

• To coordinate day to day payroll activities working with T2, Payroll TL and Payroll manager
• Providing assistance to client on all payroll related questions
• Preparing different payroll reports and distributing to internal and external stake holders
• Coordinating with Tax and Garnishment team to smoothen the payroll process
• Training T2 resources on payroll process
• Preparing process documents for payroll tasks
• Review and sign off on payroll transmittal reports
• Managing payroll team in the absence of TL
• Coordinating payroll transmittal activities and ensure that payroll is run on time.
• Preparing detailed RCA for all payroll related issues/escalations along with preventive actions
• Conducting regular audits on payroll procedures and records

Desirable Candidate Must Have

• Minimum 3 plus years Expertise in US payroll related laws and Tax obligations
• Advanced skills in MS Excel to include V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, Macros
• Subject Matter Expertise in payroll testing, mapping, reporting and analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced analytical and problem solving ability
• 3 years Degree/Diploma
• Flexibility towards shift (Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST (US Shifts )). This position may require long hours and weekend work.
• Candidates with FPC or payroll certification is a plus
