Job summary

LetzBizz is seeking an experienced Oracle OCI Exadata Architect in Chennai to design, implement and support enterprise Oracle databases on OCI Exadata. The role requires hands-on expertise with Exadata Dedicated Infrastructure, VM Clusters, RAC and Grid Infrastructure, as well as patching, backups and DR.

You will lead performance tuning, capacity planning and complex production issue resolution, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-availability database services in OCI.

Job Description – Oracle OCI Exadata Architect

Position: Oracle OCI Exadata Architect

Location: Chennai

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Oracle OCI Exadata Architect with strong hands-on expertise in designing, administering and supporting enterprise Oracle database environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The candidate must have strong experience with OCI Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure (ExaDB-D), Exadata VM Clusters, Oracle Database 19c/23ai, RAC, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Exadata patching, performance tuning, OCI networking and disaster recovery.

This is a hands-on Architect/Lead SME role requiring strong technical leadership and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, administer and support OCI Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure (ExaDB-D).
• Provision, configure and manage Exadata Infrastructure and Exadata VM Clusters.
• Manage Exadata compute, memory, storage, database servers and storage servers, including capacity planning and resource optimization.
• Plan and execute Exadata Infrastructure, VM Cluster, Grid Infrastructure and Database RU patching, including pre-checks, validation and rollback planning.
• Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, SCAN, VIP, listeners and database services.
• Support Oracle Database 19c and 23ai, including patching, upgrades and migration activities.
• Design and support Data Guard / Active Data Guard, RMAN backup/recovery and DR solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Exadata Storage Servers, cell services, flash/cache, I/O and database performance.
• Perform performance analysis and tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Monitor and Exadata performance metrics.
• Perform regular health checks, capacity reviews, proactive monitoring and performance assessments.
• Lead troubleshooting and RCA for critical P1/P2 production incidents and coordinate with Oracle Support for critical SRs.
• Support database and workload migrations from on-premises or other Oracle platforms to OCI Exadata.
• Work closely with Oracle DBA, EBS Apps DBA, OCI, middleware, network and security teams.

OCI Infrastructure & Networking

Strong working knowledge of OCI infrastructure supporting Exadata environments, including:

VCN & Subnets | Client & Backup Networks | NSGs | Security Lists | Route Tables | DRG | DNS/SCAN | FastConnect | Site-to-Site VPN | OCI IAM | Vault/KMS | OCI Monitoring | Alarms | Object Storage | TDE

The candidate should be capable of troubleshooting application-to-database, RAC, on-premises-to-OCI and network latency/connectivity issues.

Candidate Profile

The candidate should be a hands-on OCI Exadata Architect / Lead SME, not limited to architecture or OCI networking.

Strong experience in Exadata administration, VM Cluster management, Exadata patching, RAC/ASM, performance troubleshooting and production operations is essential.

The role requires strong communication, customer-facing, troubleshooting and documentation skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions, production incidents, architecture reviews, migrations, patching and performance optimization in an enterprise managed-services environment.
