Job summary

Talent21 in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced Oracle Apps DBA to manage end-to-end patching for Oracle Database and Oracle EBS environments. The role covers CPU, CSPU, RU, and one-off patches with focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining security standards.

You will perform ADOP-based EBS R12.2 patching including analysis, execution, validation, and troubleshooting, as well as OPatch patching and rollback planning.

Qualifications

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Job Description:

Mandatory

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Oracle quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPU), Security Patch Updates (CSPU/SPU), Release Updates (RU), and one-off patches across Oracle Database and Oracle EBS environments.
• Perform end-to-end Oracle EBS R12.2 patching using ADOP, including patch analysis, execution, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Execute Oracle Database patching using OPatch, including rollback planning and conflict resolution.
• Conduct patch impact assessments, prerequisite checks, and post-patch validation activities.
• Prepare patching plans, implementation procedures, rollback strategies, and compliance reports.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in the Oracle EBS 12.2 online patching cycle (ADOP) to minimize downtime and ensure seamless updates.
• Ensure compliance with Oracle security recommendations, vulnerability remediation requirements, and audit controls.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediations recommended through Oracle Security Alerts.
• Coordinate patch deployments with Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams for complex multi-tier environments.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware, DMZ architectures, and SOAP/REST web services.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and an Agile mindset to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving business priorities.

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience managing very large databases at terabyte scale.
• Hands-on experience in administering Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including provisioning, networking, security, backup, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Maintain patching documentation, runbooks, patch inventory, and automate validation activities where applicable.
• Experience on RAC, ASM, Exadata, Performance tuning, Data Guard (Physical and Logical), DG Broker
• Experience in handling performance issues on the Application and Database layer in a complex transactional environment
• Hands-on experience in automation using Shell scripts, Perl, Python, Ansible

Additional mandatory Requirements

• The person need to Work in a round robin Shift( ASIA , GENERAL,EUR) as needed by Team
• There will be constant weekend work , may be at least 2 weekends in a month and comp off will be eligible.
• If the activity is planned during North America slot , he/she need to available to perform the job.

Skills/Certification:

• Oracle Apps DBA with R12.2+ and Proficient with CPU Patching

Note: The person needs to Work in a round robin Shift( ASIA , GENERAL,EUR) as needed by Team and need to work on weekends. There Will be work for 1 or 2 weekends each month and they will be allowed to take compensatory off
