Division Overview:

The Operations division provides the support and control infrastructure that enables the Firm to develop and deliver financial products throughout the world. Working with the Sales, Trading and Information Technology Divisions, Operations professionals are responsible for the management and execution of transactions in a manner which maximizes profitability and minimizes risk. Our division is responsible for the management and execution of millions of securities, FX & OTC transactions on a daily basis. Our responsibilities include trade processing, confirmation, settlement, fails management, margin, asset servicing, risk management, reference data management and various other client services. In partnership with sales, trading, prime services, information technology and other teams from across the bank, we apply a continual focus on improving productivity and efficiency, while seeking new and innovative ways to support our clients' changing needs.

Business Unit Overview:

The role of Shared Services is to support the activities of the Global Markets and IBD businesses. The division operates across a large number of global legal entities in order to perform a diverse range of client servicing, risk management and regulatory functions, as well as the more traditional clearing and settlement responsibilities. Specifically India Shared Services provides a level of support for all the regions and entities that the above services are provided in locally. It is further subdivided into the following highly specialized teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cash Management operations across Nomura Entities
  • Work closely with other Business units like Settlements, Treasury, Technology, Netman etc. to ensure smooth conduct of operational tasks
  • Responsible for management of Cashman based Applications & ensure that these applications are updated with recent market driven initiatives
  • Recognize potential for greater funding, liquidity management, reduction of reserves & efficiencies & make recommendations accordingly
  • Drive strategic direction for Cash management team & create a close integration with global footprint
  • Have indepth understanding of MCO reserves, liquidity management, low point reduction, funding & cost management
  • Identify, analyze & resolve complex problems related to product lines or functions, using general practises & change precedents to resolve
  • Ensure proper communication & compliance of company & regulatory policies affecting areas managed
