Job summary

FIS is seeking an L1 Support resource to join our Enterprise Command Center team supporting Clients globally. This role focuses on monitoring, managing and supporting multiple client jobs, scheduled through Control-M.

You will take part in executing and monitoring regression runs, elevate failures to support team based on SOP, perform root cause analysis and present findings to operations, development and leadership teams, and implement proactive solutions to stabilize automation suites.

Qualifications

  • BS/BSc/BTech in Computer Science or related field
  • 2–5 years hands-on Control-M support
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage scheduled production end-of-day processing
  • Perform hourly checks for specific applications
  • Prepare shift handover and daily incident reports with complete details
  • Participate in production changes, disaster recovery exercises, patching events and post-change monitoring
  • Identify failed jobs, analyze logs and perform initial troubleshooting

About The Team

The production support team at FIS consist of Mainframes, Open systems Batch scheduling, NDM~ Connect Direct, CA Output Management & CA Easytrieve administration. It operates from Bangalore, Chennai, and Pune locations. It is a Level 3 team that provides Scheduling and Admin services for multiple clients hosted at data centers across the globe.

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking L1 Support resource to join our Enterprise Command Center team supporting Clients globally. This role focuses on monitoring, managing and supporting multiple client jobs, scheduled through Control-M. you will take part in executing and monitoring regression runs, elevate failures to support team based on the standard operating procedure, do root cause analysis and present findings to operations, development and leadership teams, implement proactive solutions to stabilize and expedite automation suites and thereby improve customer experience. You will also be required to adapt to and learn new/niche tech including AI tools and technology and apply same to boost ground level productivity and efficiency.

What You Bring

Knowledge / Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience supporting and administering a BMC Control-M environment
  • Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work in an on-call rotation or shift environment
Skills
  • Monitor and manage scheduled production end-of-day processing, and client delivery activities
  • Perform hourly checks of for specific type of applications
  • Prepare and send shift handover, end-of-shift updates, daily checklists, and operational reports with complete and accurate incident details.
  • Participate in production changes, disaster recovery exercises, patching events, validation activities, and post-change monitoring for all the application platform jobs
  • Observe the active job alert using the Control-M Monitoring domain. Track job execution, dependencies, and system health
  • Identify failed jobs (Ended Not OK), analyze sysout/logs, and perform initial troubleshooting or restarts or follow standard operating procedure for next action
  • Respond to automated triggers, SNMP traps, and system alerts generated by workflow issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with good communication
  • Working experience of Agile development methodologies (SCRUM, KANBAN)
  • Exposure to Project/Defect/Test Management tools e.g. JIRA, ALM etc
  • A team player, who can work independently under minimum supervision and guide/mentor others when needed
  • Possesses the desire to increase knowledge and skills when circumstances call for additional learning
Added Bonus/secondary Skills
  • Experience of developing tools/utilities/automation from scratch using latest tech
  • Knowledge of Cloud (AZURE) concepts and usage
  • Knowledge and practical exposure to AI tools and tech e.g. MS Office Copilot, GitHubCoPilot etc
Qualifications

Minimum BS/BSc/BTech degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • Ability to identify risks and issue proactively and elevate them timely
  • Ability to coordinate with teams and solve problems
  • Able to enhance existing framework to support multiple clients and products with max re-usability
  • Interact with clients on understanding and analyzing both functional and non-functional (performance) test requirements
  • Organized approach~ Manage and adapt according to client priorities and internal requirements
  • Self-starter~ Work autonomously and as part of a global team
  • Control-M Suite~ Deep familiarity with the Control-M Enterprise Manager (EM), Monitoring,
  • Operating Systems~ Solid command line skills in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments to check agent statuses and system resources
  • Log Analysis~ Ability to read and interpret execution sysouts and script failure logs
  • Scripting Knowledge~ Basic understanding of Shell, PowerShell, or Python scripts to understand what a failing job was attempting to execute
