Job summary

FNZ is an asset custodian. The Operations SME will manage corporate actions across funds, equities and fixed income, ensuring accurate and timely processing. The role requires sourcing data from Bloomberg and exchanges, maintaining ledgers, and coordinating with client teams to deliver compliant, SLA-driven results.

Excellent knowledge of SQL, Excel, Bloomberg and market data systems is essential. Collaboration with IT and management will drive process improvements and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in Operations is required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Corporate Actions/Income Process is required.
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

Operations SME Role Description

FNZ is an asset custodian. This means we hold client assets in our name as nominee and are responsible for the administration of these assets.

The role of an Operations SME is to manage and process all corporate events that occur ensuring that the underlying beneficial owners receive the level of service in both accuracy and timeliness that owners would get if assets were held in their own name. The product range of assets we administer includes Managed funds, Equities and Fixed Interest.

Specific Role Responsibilities

• Processing mandatory and voluntary corporate actions on Managed Funds, Equities and Fixed Interest products within Key Performance Indicator targets. The role will include the allocation of coupon and dividend income, maturities, fund closures, non-income corporate action events such as rights issues, takeovers, stock splits, conversions, share purchase plans, and IPO’s.
• Sourcing of all relevant information, either from fund managers, data feeds, Bloomberg, custodian agents or relevant market exchange websites to ensure corporate actions are processed correctly.
• Liaison with the Client Relationship and Support team to ensure all relevant information is communicated effectively to and from underlying clients.
• Maintaining internal stock and cash ledger control accounts and clearing them daily.
• Reconciling client holdings versus agent holding to ensure that they match during a corporate action.
• Working with the IT department to develop system enhancements to improve the efficiency and accuracy of corporate action processing.
• Working with FNZ management and other team members to enhance processes for greater efficiencies and controls within the business. This includes keeping the teams procedures up to date.
• Communicating effectively with 3rd parties i.e. fund managers, custodian agents and brokers, to ensure everyone has a clear understanding of both incoming and outgoing corporate event notifications.
• Testing team process related functions in context of project releases and general regression testing where required.
• Daily management of CA BAU to ensure all aspects are delivered within SLA/KPI requirements, MI reporting, team checklists, platform issue log management, email inbox management.
• Management of team Compliance and Regulatory requirements to ensure FNZ meet these requirements as set out in the External Audit, Internal Audit, Internal Monitoring Review and any other regulatory requirements.
• Working alongside the CA manager to motivate and engage the team in order to achieve company and team goals.
• Deliver tailored staff development plans in regular one2ones alongside CA manager.

Experience required

• Operations SME should have a background and interest in financial markets ideally with exposure to corporate actions.
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum of six years of experience in Operations is required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Corporate Actions/Income Process is required.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Including MSSQL Server 2008) skills required.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong communications skills.
• Ability to solve Financial Market and IT System issues.
• Enthusiastic and able to perform role autonomously while being a team player and contributing to the overall success of the team and wider business.
• Proven project delivery Asset Management / Wealth Management experience Hands-on experience working with SQL, Advanced Excel, Bloomberg, DTCC, Markit, and other market data vendors.

UAT & Change Management

As in any financial institution we experience busier periods i.e. end of financial quarters which require all staff to pull together and potentially work extra hours as required. Hence the ability to work well in a team environment and meet deadlines is essential in this role.
