Job summary

Staples India is seeking a senior software architect to design and develop in-house data-driven solutions for complex decision-making in Inventory Management, Order Fulfillment, and Supply Chain.

You will own building highly scalable distributed systems in cloud and on-prem, partner with business and technology teams, and drive SaaS lifecycle from requirements to production. Experience with Azure or GCP, Spark, Kafka, and microservices is required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of related work experience in software/system design and development.
• Hands-on programming in Java and/or Python with exposure to Big Data tools.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems in cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data-driven solutions for inventory, fulfillment, and supply chain problems.
• Build scalable, fault-tolerant microservices and data pipelines in cloud/public/private environments.

You will be part of Inventory Management Team and partner withboth business and technology teams to design and develop in-house data drivensolutions for complex decision-making problems through systematic applicationof computer science, analytics, mathematical optimization, and machine learningas well as applying cutting edge technologies in the areas of InventoryManagement, Order Fulfillment, and Supply Chain. Develop algorithms andapplications from inception to implementation and collaborate acrossdepartments to productionize solutions.

Hands-on ownership designing and developing highly scalable &highly available implementations in public Cloud and on-prem. Participate inthe entire SaaS lifecycle driving adoption and scale applying best practicesthat drive agility and quality. Work closely with product management andprogram management to derive application requirements, set expectations, andcommunicate progress.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 12+ years ofrelated work experience.
• Stronghands-on programming experience in at least one modern language (Java,Python) and Big Data frameworks (Spark or Kafka)
• Strong hold onsystem design and ability to develop highly reliable, fault-tolerantdistributed applications with a heavy emphasis on performance and scale inthe Cloud.
• Demonstratedunderstanding of fast-paced Agile principles with technical designs,iterative development, and code reviews.
• Well-versedwith building high quality software using the industry proven practices –12 factor app, reactive manifesto, and CI/CD.
• Buildingmicroservices using Spring/Spring-boot framework including Spring JPA,Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, Spring Data Stream etc.
• Experienceworking with Distributed Databases such as Azure CosmosDB, Couchbase, andMongoDB.
• Experienceworking with Relational Databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experienceworking with Distributed Caching solutions such as Memcached, Redis, andHazelcast.
• Experienceworking with Distributed Messaging solutions such Azure EventHub, ApacheKafka, and Solace.
• Experiencebuilding and optimizing production grade data pipelines (stream processingand batch) to prepare datasets at scale for data analysis, modeling, andoptimization.

Basic Qualifications

• Provenexperience taking an idea from inception to life with an ability toexplore a variety of open-source technologies.
• Experience with developing, deploying, andlaunching software products on public cloud preferably Microsoft Azure or GCP
