Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Bengaluru seeks a personalised technical support engineer for mass market customers and channel partners. You will handle pre- and post-sales technical support across a region, supporting customer problems with efficient use of resources and REN product lines.

The role requires strong embedded C skills, experience with IDEs (Keil/IAR/Eclipse) and debugging, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment. Some travel (<5%) may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–6 years of experience in embedded software.
• Strong C programming and knowledge of device drivers.
• Experience with IDEs and tool chains (Keil/IAR/Eclipse).
• Understanding of peripheral drivers and debugging techniques.
• Knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and communication protocols (I2C/UART/SPI).

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers and partners.
• Assist sales teams to position REN products and solutions.
• Support partners and customers with training materials, demos, and collateral.
• Collaborate with internal REN teams to resolve technical issues.
• Act as a go-to technical advocate for partner FAE teams.
• Participate in regional business reviews to identify gaps and opportunities.

Job Description

A personalised technical support engineer for mass market customers & channel partners, providing pre & post sales technical support to a geographical region and its customers, partner FAE and Renesas Sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Support customers on popular Catalog Embedded Products (MCU/MPU/Wireless)
• Post sales: Provide personalised technical support online (email / teams etc) to understand customers problems & solve them with smart efficient use of resources (own knowledge & product line resources)
• Pre Sales: Work with sales teams on understanding customers' requirements (product & application or use case) to position REN products and solutions in an advantageous way.
• Support Partner FAE in distribution on enabling them win with REN products & solutions.
• Solving technical issues raised by partner FAE bring to you.
• Providing them with training materials / collaterals / demos etc they need to convince customers to use REN products or solutions.
• Be their ‘go to’ advocate within REN to enable partner FAE to be successful.
• Actively Participate in local business reviews with the relevant sales teams & partners and escape / highlight gaps and issues needed to win customer sockets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's from Computer Science / Engineering Course or equivalent in relevant discipline
• 2 to 6 Years of experience.
• C programming know-how and experience in developing SW in embedded platforms
• Experienced with typical IDE's & tool chains (e.g. Keil/IAR/ Eclipse based etc.) & debuggers.
• Experience in typical hardware peripherals and drivers
• Experienced with SW and/or HW debugging techniques.
• Understanding / experience of one or more Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS, Azure OS, Zephyr etc.)
• Knowledgeable in high-level embedded C / device drivers / middleware / utilities.
• Knowledgeable in Communication Protocols & Interface buses like I2C, UART and SPI / Clocking & Timers / memory utilization etc.
• Any wireless experience (Bluetooth / WiFi) an advantage
• Any experience of working with customers / partners an advantage.
• Strong understanding of embedded software development & sound C skills, ideally from developing application firmware /demos etc
• Strong communication skills and be able to work / communicate in a multicultural environment.
• Good questioning techniques: ability to guide conversations via open & closed questions.
• Ability to work with multiple issues in parallel in a fast-moving environment. Will be working on many open issues in parallel.
• Confident in ability to help/communicate complex issues 1-1 (f2f online and via email etc)
• Strong collaboration skills
• Must be interested / passionate about embedded systems and MCU related matters.
• Some limited travel may be necessary (<5%).
