Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an Analyst – Macro & Investment Strategy to anchor our macro research effort. The role will focus primarily on identifying the market and macroeconomic trends that matter, analysing them rigorously, and converting them into clear, decision-ready views for the investment committee and the clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse macroeconomic and equity market trends from a top-down, sectoral and comparative perspective, and develop, articulate and defend investment strategy views across market direction, sector allocation, style, valuations and key investment themes.
• Conduct macroeconomic and market analysis covering growth, inflation, interest rates, liquidity, credit, capital flows, currency, fiscal policy, valuations and earnings, while building and maintaining databases to track these and other relevant economic and market indicators and assess their implications for equities.
• Develop quantitative frameworks and models for index targets, earnings growth, valuations, market returns and other strategy-related analysis.
• Track earnings of companies comprising major Indian indices and assess the implications for aggregate earnings growth, sector earnings and market expectations.
• Independently produce high-quality strategy notes, macro updates, research reports, chartbooks and client-facing publications, with limited supervision.
• Build marketing and investment presentations for internal and external audiences, working with senior investment leadership where required.
• Monitor relevant market news, corporate developments, economic data, policy announcements and global market developments, and assess their implications for India.
• Leverage AI tools and programming to improve the speed, quality and scalability of research.

Candidate Profile:

• 0 – 2 years of relevant full-time experience in equity strategy, macro research, equity research, asset management or a related investment role.
• Degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance or a quantitatively oriented discipline, with a strong understanding of equity markets, macroeconomics, valuation and financial statement analysis.
• CA/CFA qualification or demonstrable progress towards the CFA charter.
• Strong proficiency in working with large datasets and quantitative analysis using Excel, Python or similar programming tools, with the ability to leverage AI tools, advanced workflows and custom skills to improve research productivity.
