Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide performance management, financial analytics and decision support to stakeholders within the Trade FBPs and ocean cost teams. You will link financial numbers to commercial actions, contribute to forecasting, reporting and data-driven decision making, and collaborate across global finance platforms to improve visibility and business outcomes.

The role requires strong Excel and Power BI skills and excellent communication with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's in finance (CA/ MBA-finance) required.
• 7+ years of experience in finance and analysis.
• Experience of financial modelling and forecasting with business acumen.
• Good communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
• Working proficiency on tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Provide insight and foresight to enable value creation for stakeholders in Trade FBPs.
• Maintain and contribute to an effective performance management framework with strong data discipline.
• Support business decision making with value-add analysis, reporting and forecasts; validate Freight List updates.
• Assist with ad-hoc analyses and contribute to management reviews and memos for senior leadership.
• Lead small initiatives to improve performance analysis and financial visibility; support business case preparation.
• Coordinate with COE team to ensure timely and accurate data across reports.

Purpose: The purpose of the analyst is to provide performance management, financial analytics and decision support to the Stakeholders working closely with the trades and ocean cost organization. In doing so they must leverage “One set of numbers” and establish a strong link between financial numbers and Commercial actions.

You will work with multiple aspects of our financial reporting, process optimisation, financial planning and analysis as well as communication with a range of management levels.

Responsibilities

• The Financial analyst is expected to provide insight and foresight that enables the Trade FBPs to create value for stakeholders.
• The Financial Analyst, through the operating system must maintain and contribute towards an effective performance management framework and have a detailed understanding of the financial numbers as well as solid business knowledge. Through this he/she must challenge and contribute to more data driven decisions.
• Responsible for supporting and engaging in business decision making for the Trades org, by providing value-add analysis, management reporting, deep dive analysis, performance management reporting and financial forecasts. Ownership over validation of Freight List updates.
• Support the trade FBPs with various adhoc analysis and contribute to the MPR, QPR and various memos to the senior leadership
• Lead smaller and contribute to larger initiatives and projects related to improving performance management analysis, processes as well as projects seeking to improve financial visibility
• Support preparation of business cases.
• Co-ordinate with COE team to ensure timely and accurate update of all reports. Ensure proper checks to enable correctness of data across different reports.

Experience & Qualification

• Master's in finance (CA/ MBA-finance)
