Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an OCI Cloud Engineer to deploy and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resources, ensuring security, backups, and cost efficiency. You will implement IAM policies, monitor threats, and support incident response while automating deployments with CLI, Ansible, and Terraform.

You will collaborate with development teams to align OCI best practices and document configurations, processes, and lessons learned for the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in security of OCI resources by implementing appropriate security measures, managing IAM policies, monitoring for security threats, and responding to security incidents.
• Experience in backups and disaster recovery strategies (snapshots, block storage backups, etc.).
• Experiences in logging, monitoring, streaming, functions, etc. is required.
• Configuring observability and management tools and integrating with call out tools to track performance and health of OCI resources, setting up logging and alerts.
• Managing OCI accounts, billing, access controls, and security configurations.
• Monitoring and optimizing OCI resource usage to control costs and ensure efficient usage.
• Setting up and managing networking components like VPN, subnets, route tables, security groups, DRG and VPN connections.
• Utilizing OCI automation tools, such as OCI CLI, Ansible, Terraform to automate deployment and management tasks.
• Resolving issues related to OCI resources, identifying root causes, providing technical support to users or teams.
• Optimizing OCI service performance by fine-tuning configurations, scaling resources, and applying best practices.
• Keeping OCI resources up to date with patches, updates, and security fixes.
• Collaborating with development teams to understand requirements and provide guidance on OCI best practices.
• Documenting configurations, processes, and best practices, and sharing knowledge with team members.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Deploying and managing various OCI resources like Compute instances, Objects storage buckets, load balancers, File storage etc., as per the organizations requirements.

• Ensuring the security of OCI resources by implementing appropriate security measures, managing IAM (Identity and Access Management) policies, monitoring for security threats, and responding to security incidents. Experience in Cloud Guard, Vulnerability scanning, Vault..etc is required.
• Implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect critical data and services from potential data loss or outages. Experience in snapshots, blocks storage backups ..etc is required.
• Experiences in logging, monitoring, streaming, functions. Etc is required.
• Configuring monitoring tools (Observability and Management) and integrating with call out tools to track the performance and health of OCI resources, setting up logging to collect and analyze system and application logs, , as well as alerting right team.
• Managing OCI accounts, setting up new accounts, and configuring account-level settings such as billing, access controls, and security.
• Monitoring and optimizing OCI resource usage to control costs and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Setting up and managing networking components like Virtual Private network (VPN), subnets, route tables, security groups, DRG and VPN connections.
• Utilizing OCI automation tools, such as OCI CLI, Ansible, Terraform..etc to automate resource deployment and management tasks.
• Resolving issues related to OCI resources, identifying root causes of problems, and providing technical support to users or other teams within the organization.
