Smart Source in Mumbai, Maharashtra is seeking an O&M Engineer / Senior Engineer to manage telecom network patrols and fiber restoration readiness. The role focuses on minimizing outages, coordinating with patrollers and local authorities, and maintaining equipment and vehicles for rapid response.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in telecom network operations, with knowledge of DXE and Advanced NPT, and strong teamwork with field staff to ensure 100% SLA compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in Telecom Network Operations & Maintenance, Projects or Deployment.
• Experience in on-ground network operations and field activities.
• Basic knowledge of DXE and Advanced NPT.

Responsibilities

• Manage network patrolling and timely reporting of network activities.
• Ensure readiness of fiber restoration equipment, tools, and FRT vehicles.
• Handle fiber cut restoration, permanent restoration, and MTTR compliance.
• Monitor network health, dark fiber availability, and preventive maintenance.
• Identify critical locations and minimize fiber cuts through regular patrolling.
• Coordinate with patrollers, Network Mitras, local authorities, and JCB operators.
• Manage FRT and manpower deployment during network failures.
• Ensure proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Plan overhead-to-underground cable conversion and minimize aerial cables.
• Plan and execute new customer connectivity on existing routes.
• Maintain client relationships and coordinate with NOC and leadership during network outages.
• Ensure 100% SLA compliance and minimize network escalations.
• Submit regular reports to the O&M Cluster In-charge.
