Job description

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and validate non-functional requirements (security, resiliency, performance, scalability, compliance, logging, monitoring) for product offerings.
• Conduct NFR audits, gap analysis, and compliance reviews across product modules.
• Translate client and regulatory expectations into actionable NFR specifications for product and engineering teams.
• Drive auditing, logging, monitoring, and observability standards to align with BFSI operational needs.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and DevOps/SRE teams to ensure resiliency, high availability, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities are built into solutions.
• Partner with security teams to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, PRA/FCA guidelines).
• Support performance, capacity, and load testing strategies to validate scalability.
• Act as a subject matter expert in responding to RFI/RFPs from BFS clients, ensuring product responses clearly demonstrate compliance with NFRs, security, and regulatory expectations.
• Engage with client technical teams, auditors, and regulators to provide evidence of compliance and operational readiness.
• Continuously benchmark product NFRs against industry best practices and banking regulatory frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in defining and managing NFRs for banking and financial services products.
• Proven experience in responding to RFI/RFPs for BFS clients, with strong ability to articulate product capabilities in terms of security, compliance, and resiliency.
• Strong knowledge of banking-grade security and compliance standards (PCI DSS, PSD2, ISO 27001, SWIFT CSP, SOC2).
• Hands-on experience with logging/monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) and observability frameworks.
• Deep understanding of resiliency architectures (HA, DR, RTO/RPO design, active-active/active-passive setups).
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience collaborating with DevOps and SRE teams on CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills able to produce NFR specifications, audit reports, and compelling RFP responses.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to interact with clients, procurement teams, auditors, and regulators.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with core banking, payments, or capital markets platforms.
• Exposure to regulatory audits and client due diligence processes.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, AWS/Azure/GCP Security/Architecture certifications, ITIL.
